As a canvasser for NYPIRG you'll be outside for most of the day m-f during the summer months. It can be tiring and mentally and physically. Anyone with decent social skills and the ability to retain new information on their current and past campaigns can do well. The neighborhoods you canvass in are typically the safe suburban upper middle class types. - more ... If you enjoy talking to people and you care about the environment/positive policy reform you'll likely enjoy it. Sometimes there are internships available for those who have an interest in the field of politics and/or environmental advocacy. - less
