Disconnected management creates confusion and frustration
Anonymous Former Employee (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - November 14, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe upper management exhibited a pattern of disconnected decision-making that left the entire team bewildered. The work environment felt more like a pressure cooker, with a constant undertone of browbeating from supervisors who seemed more interested in blame-shifting than problem-solving. The expectations set were not just high but bordered on the realm of the crazy, with little regard for the practical constraints of day-to-day operations. It's disheartening to witness such potential within a company overshadowed by a lack of cohesion and understanding at the top.

Overwhelmed by stress: Ridiculous workloads and tyrannical managers
Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - October 21, 2023
I'm often overwhelmed by the ridiculous workloads assigned to us. There's just so much to do that my work lofe balance is basically non-existent. Employees are constantly looking over their shoulder in fer because of the managers. They make employees work harder through fear and intimidation, and threaten to fire anyone they find to be underperforming. It's incredibly exhausting having to work in such a horrible workplace, and having management being an obstacle for employees does not make things any easier.
Pros
I don't think there is anything positive about working here, and I'm certain that other employees will agree with that sentiment.

Constant Upskilling Requirements in a Toxic Work Environment Made Things Awful
Anonymous Former Employee (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - September 25, 2023
The job was terrible, and the workload was stressful. The workload always kept rising, and so did the expectations of the top management. They wanted me to forget that I had a poor work-life balance and focus on upskilling, even if meant working 20 hours a day. It was a ridiculous attitude as I couldn't avoid my health for a job. That's why I left as soon as I could!
Pros
I only liked the compensation. Nothing else!

Disturbing level of disregard for employees!
Clerk (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - August 2, 2023
There were numerous instances of unfair treatment, favoritism, and an intimidating work environment that made it difficult for employees to voice their concerns or suggest improvements. Under such leadership, the company lacked direction and cohesion, resulting in poor decision-making and a toxic work culture. The lack of transparency and communication further exacerbated the issues, leaving employees feeling demotivated and undervalued. The negative impact of the CEO's actions trickled down throughout the organization, ultimately affecting the company's productivity and reputation. This is an undesirable place to work so avoid this!
Pros
Honestly, can't think of anything positive about this company, except for the work colleagues.

This is very high stress, high workload environment
Sales (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - July 10, 2023
The company's management lacks clear direction and fails to provide adequate support to its employees. There is a distinct lack of transparency, with important information often withheld or only shared on a need-to-know basis. Additionally the workloads is often overwhelming and unrealistic, leading to burnout and a detrimental impact on work-life balance. The overall lack of proper management and support at Newchip greatly hinders professional growth and job satisfaction. Avoid this at all costs!

CEO's Snarky Attitude Undermines Productivity and Morale
Sales Representative (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - June 20, 2023
It is unfortunate that the CEO's behavior often overshadowed these positive aspects. The CEO's snarky and condescending attitude towards employees made it difficult to approach them with any concerns or suggestions. It seemed as through we were expected to be at their beck and call, regardless of personal boundaries or work-life balance. This unbecoming behavior created a toxic work environment, hindering productivity and stifling creativity.

Terrible Politics and Worst Work Ambiance Made Me Quit
Anonymous Former Employee (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - May 27, 2023
The office politics levels were terrible. The top management was aware of it, but instead of stopping it, they encouraged it. I thought it was ridiculous and awful. The people who did the bare minimum got promotions and financial growth, but those who did most of the work and put in stressful and exhausting hours were avoided when it came to professional growth. Stay away!
Pros
You will be making a mistake if you take up a job here.

Management blatantly lied to applicants and we all fell for it
Anonymous Former Employee (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - April 30, 2023
The "flexible work schedule" the company mentioned meant working overtime and weekends! The management blatantly lied to applicants and we all fell for it and took the job without thinking not having any idea how terrible and brutal work would actually be!
Pros
The company actually makes promotions from within, though it's mostly through politics!

Incompetent managers, unbearable stress
Sales Representative (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - February 12, 2023
Employees of this company experience unbearable stress because of the management's incompetence. The manager's lack of knowledge and experience create a chaotic work atmosphere wherein employees get much more pressure and stress than they should be experiencing. The employees are the ones who have to sokve the problems created by the management.
