Intern review
Senior Campus Ambassador (Former Employee) –  Columbia, MDJune 11, 2018
I was big fan of NewDay USA. I thought they're pay was quite competitive. The environment was great and offered a lot of different opportunities in multiple areas. I found that the company required it's employees to work many hours per week, however, in doing so you would more than likely see the benefit directly correlate to the additional commissions you made! The training by NewDay was also superb.
Pros
Everyone is super nice, helpful and attractive. Very young company, great positive energy to submerse yourself with.
Cons
The company is super face paced and seems rather unorganized pretty often!

A great opportunity for the right person
Instructional Courseware Developer (Former Employee) –  Fulton, MDMarch 7, 2018
For those looking for an opportunity in mortgage loan origination, this is a great opportunity with huge potential. But like with all things, you have to be willing to put in the hours, and work hard for it. They set people up for success on the sales floor. Operational departments have a different dynamic.
Pros
Great opportunity for energetic, sales-oriented go getters.
Cons
They expect a lot from their employees.

So so work life balance, long hours, ability to advance quickly.

Not the highest level of job security, people come and go pretty quickly.

Opportunity to learn a lot on the fly.

Stay for your licenses and experience, then get out. Management sucks, the training is pretty good though. A lot of the work is luck based. One day your calls could suck and the next day be great.
Pros
base salary, benefits, co workers
Cons
hours, commission structure, managers, culture

No work-life balance. Constant threats of being fired and not transparency. They get you to come in by leaving out the many details of how absolutely demanding the job is. You will be there all day everyday and stress is always high.

Everyone there is really willing to work hard and put in the hours. If you grind it out in the beginning, you will be setting yourself up for success in the near future.

This is a good company to begin working out of college. The work/life balance isnt as good, and pay raised do not happen as often as other companies. Yeah

Mortgage Loan Officer (Former Employee) –  Fulton, MDApril 9, 2017
Unless you are determined to create a career in the mortgage industry do not go to NewDay USA. This company feeds off of young people desperate for money. You can make good money but will sacrifice any type of personal life or weekends in exchange for it

Great employer if you're willing to work long hours
Mortgage Loan Processor (Current Employee) –  Fulton, MDFebruary 16, 2015
Initial training program is excellent. Hours are long, few holidays, excellent incentives and advancement opportunities.

Sales organization, but if you don't produce they will retool you into a different position instead of letting you go.
Pros
Free lunches, advancement opportunities, strong leadership
Cons
long hours, poor training, work weekends

Good Workplace, long days
Mortgage Loan Originator (Former Employee) –  Fulton, MDJanuary 15, 2015
Newday is a great place to work coming directly out of college. There is plenty of money to be made, but plan on working 70 hours or more each week, including Saturdays. There are great financial incentives and fun company outings as well. The major downside is that your job never really feels safe and it feels like you always have someone breathing down your neck.
Pros
Good financial incentives
Cons
No life/work balance

Hardworking but Fun Atmosphere
Quality Control/Concierge (Current Employee) –  Fulton, MDOctober 22, 2014
NewDay USA's focus is to help veterans get or keep the homes that they love. Passionate employees make up the competitive culture in the sales department but are always offering help to those in need. Teamwork is absolutely necessary and management is fully supportive. Benefits, bonuses, and promotion from within define this meritocracy.
For many the hardest part of the day is walking away from a phone that won't stop ringing when the caller on the other side of the line is in need and offers whomever answers a great chance at a hefty commission. This, undeniably, also makes up the most enjoyable part of NewDay USA- helping people that have served our great country while being given the opportunity to make hundreds of thousands of dollars per year and a position in upward management.
