Poor work environment

People don't like to do their job so you have to pick up their slack. Always short staffed and poor management. Coworkers are ignorant and you do more work than your job is worth. There's way too much drama.

There is no joy working at Newfane. There is peace and no hope of ever advancing here. Newfane Rehab is a dead end job. Owners care only about the bottom line. As long as they're squeezing every nickle they can from this place, they're content. Don't expect any acknowledgment for any good work you do. Administration and upper management will squeeze you like a lemon.
The morale is rock bottom. No one wants to come to work. There's numerous call outs, walk outs, and quitting. If a patient throws urine, feces, or hits you, you're expected to take it quietly. The management's attitude is it's part of your job and if you don't like it, you can be replaced. They get away with it because Newfane is the middle of nowhere Children of the Corn town of 10 thousand. McDonald's is a better place to work.
You really don't want to work or do an internship here. Google this place. Go to Yelp. if you work here, you'll end up so stressed you might drink a cup of bleach.

It is unfortunate that this place is still open. There are many good staff that are there to care for the residents who love their profession and dedicated to caring for their residents. But the environment is sad, depressing and dirty. Upper management was not supportive or offered guidance. No discipline for those who didn't do their job and no recognition for a job well done or those staff members that went above and beyond. If you want a quality job at a quality facility, this is not the place.
If you have not been there forever, forget about sticking around.

The horrible management, including some people that do not have the proper titles to be in those positions or the degrees are running the facility. If you are killing yourself helping pick up hours, for them.... They only will stab you in the back in the long run. Worked there for over 6 years. Will never go back, and do not recommend anyone else waste their time. They do not care about anything but money and themselves. I feel sad for the patients there. They do not deserve this place. No one does.

Never work here. Don’t care abot employees. Terrible management. As the days got longer the kitchen still stunk and i would get screwed over on OT. Having to major deep cleans of the kitchen because its so gross.

Arrive at work, clean up a few things and arrange papers and things in order. Get report of people we will be working with and their status. Bring patients to pt/ot dept. for therapy after making sure they have their medication and ok from the nurse. Assist therapists with patients as needed. Organize, copy, file paperwork as necessary. Management and coworkers and helpful. The hardest part of the job is when people can not get better. The most enjoyable part is when patients can get better and are happy with their progress.

This place has many pros but even more cons. Management was very misleading and hardly took care of the residents with-in the home. Poor lack of management unless connections between others were fair. I left due to poor maanagement communication between employees.

This facility is under new ownership, new management, and renovation. Everyday is busy and the care is always resident centered. It's been a pleasure working with a team who is working so hard to better the lives of each other and their residents.

Since the new owners have taken over the place has gone down. They are more worried about their money and treat employees like garbage. Keep adding more work for us and sometimes we don't get a break. New company is taking over dietary September 10th and we are afraid of what's going to happen. Stressful place to work. Need something new.

Overall needs improvement. Staff is caring. Facility outdated, needs work. Slow moving renovations. Rules for staff needs to be enforced more such as reprimands for call ins, etc. Has good potential.
