Commercial Truck Driver in Muskegon, MI
on September 1, 2022

Got hired for class B CDL driving position even though I have an class A CDL. Worked for almost 2 months and they give the straight truck I was driving to another company. So that leaves only a class A semi truck for me to work with. I have 8yrs otr driving tractor trailers and don't want to drive them anymore. Told them that and they let me walk out the door. Sucks because it's a great work life balance

Shipping and Receiving in Norton Shores, MI

Super easy work at times but had a tendency to load your plate to full at times. The worst part is every employee was a long time employee so they seemed to have a give the new guy a hard time attitude, atleast on the shift I worked.

Office job in Norton Shores, MI
on April 4, 2022

Overall: I never take work home with me. I am not micro managed by my manager. At the end of 2021 it was announced that the company was being acquired by Imperial Dade. This announcement came as a shock to many employees. The benefits are not as good as they were when Nichols was family owned. Job security: little opportunity for advancement. After the initial training, there was no additional investment in growth or training. I think the company needs to look at the paths that can develop from certain positions and advocate that to help retention. Management: I enjoy my manager. I am allowed autonomy. I am discouraged to work from home despite there being a 2 day wfh policy. Culture: it’s a nice environment. There is an emphasis on 4 squares: work, family, health, faith/community. Some of the people who have been here for a long time are slow to embrace change. Top management has a good vision for the company, execution on this vision needs work.

Great workers here and management leaves you alone as long as you do your job. Days could be long or they could be short. Benefits are decent and the equipment is well maintained.

Supply Chain Coordinator in Norton Shores, MI

She has cried and yelled in private meetings. Management is poor and they have ZERO training policies, forms, material, or tools. When I requested that information they had nothing.
