While the rest of the year tends to be all right as far as being a relaxed work environment goes, the busy seasons are especially nightmarish. Many missed opportunities by management to make these busy seasons a smoother ride, neglecting to hire enough personnel and ignoring suggestions from employees. Management also tends to showcase their disunity, with several supervisors giving conflicting instructions to employees. CEO tends to also throw weight around, often shooting down good, detailed ideas from employees.

Unfortunately, the reality of this company is not what is portrayed on social media. Management leads very poorly and unprofessionally. Very little is done to improve workplace environment based off employee needs and suggestions. Discrimination and depreciation by upper management on multiple fronts. Major lack of proper HR. Avoidance of fair compensation based on responsibilities through titles and raises.

Nickel and Suede is an okay place to work, as long as you don't need benefits, don't have any major bills. Raises are given out infrequently, on no set schedule, and will ultimately vary from person to person with no clearly defined reasons. Some people recieved raises for training in new skills, while others who also received the same training will not receive the same raise, and often, no raise at all. Going to management about any problems you might have often ends up getting twisted around to make it seem like you are the one at fault for having an issue to begin with. Management encourages feedback, but never does anything with it. They want the "perfect environment" for a production atmosphere, but rarely do anything themselves to reinforce what they strive for. The owner fully expects all of his employees lives to revolve around bettering the business, even at the expense of their family and personal time. Food that gets left out or brought for the production team often gets eaten or mostly eaten by the owner and the manager, but since the manager is also HR nothing gets done about it. Most of the people I work alongside are great, but there are two clearly defined camps, one that is loud, boisterous, and pushes against the rules, and the other that comes to work and get shipping and production done.
