Foreign Filing Specialist/US Filing Specialist (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCMay 14, 2018
Did three different job titles and two with no backup. Could barely take off from work because nobody else knew how to do my job, however I was the constant back up for two different departments.
Pros
Cannot think of any, co workers were nice
Cons
Low low raise

Extreme favoritism, huge pay biases, low morale
N/A (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILApril 3, 2018
Poor management leading to low morale. Extreme favoritism. People promoted based on "looks". Example: HR Manager - "So and so looks just like my daughter..." So and so gets promoted from temp behind reception desk to Marketing Management position instead of promoting an actual employee of the company who deserves to move up. HR Manager plays power games with peoples salaries at a whim. Over inflates some salaries, under inflates others based on favoritism. Big unhappy group of people due to poor upper management.
Pros
A job
Cons
Favoritism, biases, poor management, poor pay for some, others overpaid on a whim

Paralegal
Paralegal, Franchise & Distribution (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCApril 2, 2018
The group I supported was very fast paced, however it was very collaborative and supportive group of attorneys. They allowed to make mistakes, only for you to identify those mistakes yourself and to correct those habits in future instances.
Pros
Minimal Supervision

Administrative Legal Secretary (Former Employee) –  Rochester, NYMarch 2, 2018
Worked in a fast-paced environment.

Learned how to be an excellent legal secretary.

Management was great.

Nice place work.

Hardest part of the job was learning all the legal applications that are required.

The most enjoyable was the peers.
Pros
Free lunches, free beverages, fun parties
Cons
Ruled by an iron fist. Almost too strict

Nixon peabody was an okay firm, departmentalized as well. Not much room for advancement and the firm was like a revolving door which was not good for the firm and the management.

Again, this is an invasion of my privacy to force me to type something in just to apply to another position another employer paid your website to post. Don't you think?

It's fine. There are nice people and they have good benefits. Not a lot of growth opportunities for staff. They are very flexible and have some good HR policies.

Mid-Size Law Firm
Associate (Current Employee) –  Boston, MAApril 12, 2017
Nixon Peabody is a mid size law firm with a large national practice. Offices function like silos as do practice groups. Compensation is not market. Partners can be mercurial.

What you'd expect from a corporate law firm
Specialist (Former Employee) –  Rochester, NYAugust 3, 2016
The work was hard, very fast-paced, but rewarding. There were many excellent attorneys who were a joy to work for. There were also a few people who were less than agreeable. The culture (in the Rochester Office, at least) was once like a family. But that has eroded as the firm grew to world-wide status. Still, employees are rewarded for hard work, and creative thinking. The pay and benefits are excellent.
Pros
Awards for going above and beyond, culture of teamwork
Cons
Tight deadlines, work/life balance tilts toward work

My experience with the Firm has been given no opportunity for advancement.
Department within Global Shared Services (Current Employee) –  Rochester, NYMay 13, 2016
In my experience with working at NP for 4 years, they do not provide the opportunity for advancement and tend to hire externally. Supervisor does not treat each employee equally.
Pros
Excellent personal time off.
Cons
No advancement opportunities.
