Benefits are good, pay is average and management does try to do their best to keep up with the changes at the company. Lots of new changes going on now.

The training l was terrible and so was the management. You know it bad when the trainer quits during training. They threw us to the wolves. They did not have proper supervisors. It was never enough help and the Vets were not very friendly at all.

Decent pay. Not a bad start for someone right out of college. I’ve learned a lot but there is not a lot of opportunity for growth. Not a bad place to work but there is room for improvement.

Company used to be a great place to work and insureds we’re happy because the service was excellent. Now the the company has gone downhill in terms of benefits, worklife balance, and has become a very toxic environment. The personal lines contact center is extremely mismanaged. Micromanaging, no consistency in promotions, no clear performance metrics. They are constantly changing. Multiple times in the year. Vacation bidding over a year in advance with no clear system for the order. Health benefits go up each year more than the small 1-3 percent raise. No holiday bonus. No compensation for working during covid when Half the staff couldn’t work and the ones that could got treated terribly. The call center is bleeding employees both new hires and tenured.

I was with the company for over 10 years. Once new ownership took over it quickly went south. They expanded way to fast to pick up business in New states. It left employees over worked and stressed out. I was in management and I had administrators in conversation talk about business process improvements which were solely focused on decreasing employees, increasing workload for the remaining employees. So much to the point there wasn’t enough time to even step away to use the bathroom or take your lunch. At the end of the year the more money they save equaled bigger bonuses for administration. This used to be a company where people stayed for 20,30,40 years. Now it has a high turn around and everyone is treated as they are disposable. The medical has changed and is no longer as good, they got rid of the pension and the yearly Christmas bonus is gone. Raises are typically around 1-2% increase. Not enough to even cover the new medical increase that happens every year. It’s really a shame as this used to be such a happy place to work.

My initial interview with NJM Insurance Group was 27 years ago for an entry level position. I do not recall the questions that were asked during the interview. During my transfers to other positions within the company, I was asked questions such as what could I offer the team and what were my strengths as an employee.
