General Manager (Former Employee) –  Charleston, SCJune 19, 2018
Incredible culture but work/life balance can be a little difficult. It is clearly up to each individual on how you handle the work/life balance. Made friendships that will last a lifetime.

As a tracking specialists I was responsible for tracking shipments back and forth in a timely manner, and relying any problems to the broker. It was a relaxed environment with really nice people.

Lots of stressful work for no money
Operations Specialist (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAMay 29, 2018
Very unprofessional work environment. Constant noise and the compensation is laughable in Atlanta GA. They treat their employees terribly and there is absolutely no opportunity for advancement. I can't say enough bad things about this company.

My favorite job
Current Employee (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAApril 25, 2018
After leaving college I went into 2 jobs that were NOT great and ended up finding NTG through acquaintances-- best decision ever. I actually enjoy my day to day now, I enjoy my coworkers, I enjoy what I do and the communicative team work environment that is promoted. I get excited to attend company events and get more involved! It's great getting to wear whatever you want, be competitive, and support a great company.
Love that the company solely promotes from within and is growing like a weed-- cool seeing people move up quickly!
Pros
Company catered meals/cookouts, internal competitions, promote from within, casual attire, work hard/play hard, Pto, benefits

As an intern, there are opportunities to get out of the office and communicate with carriers, but you can't be a full time intern.
Operations Intern (Current Employee) –  Denver, COApril 9, 2018
Overall, Nolan provided a good experience for me and the culture is awesome. It's early mornings, but it's nice to get off early as well. I believe that everyone is willing to help you learn and are willing to give you assignments that will help you grow.

Decent place to work, but pay is low. I would recommend to someone in college looking for work experience, unless you are satisfied with low pay every paycheck

Frat House 3PL Brokerage
Senior Operations Manager - DFW Office (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXJanuary 13, 2018
If you are a fresh college graduates who wants to act like you never left college, NTG could be the perfect place for you. There is room for substantial growth, but the hours are demanding, and it's just such a brofest.

Frat boy job
Senior Broker and National Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Grand Rapids, MIDecember 27, 2017
Poured my heart and soul into this job and was discarded like garbage. This is a horrible frat boy life style job. Good pay but don’t get too excited. The first time you make a mistake you will be terminated. Walking on constant egg shells.
Pros
Pay
Cons
Hours, lifestyle, loyal, help, management, atmosphere, eggshells all the time, and woman are treated like garbage.

Account Executive/Logistics Specialist (Former Employee) –  Nashville, TNDecember 14, 2017
I would recommend Nolan Transportation Group to anyone who was looking for a great opportunity. The culture there is unmatched. It is a fast paced environment but working with people you call friends makes it all worth it.

Non-conventional work place, great culture and community of employees
National Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXDecember 6, 2017
NTG is a great place to work if you are willing to work fast paced and are extremely competitive. They have fun things to do in the office so you can easily escape the pressures from work, but have a high bar set for daily work tasks. Management is amazing, as well is culture, and fellow employees. Most enjoyable part of working there was walking through the door.
Pros
work games in the office and after hour activities paid by the office
Cons
long hours

Its a great environment but is sometimes poorly managed. The staff is young and very inexperienced at managing a team. The salary is decent but the bonus structure is pointless.

Numbers control your future
Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Alpharetta, GAOctober 26, 2017
Numbers need to be hit, they will move you to a different position with much less potential compensation if you are not hitting numbers. And they will not give you any notice to do so.

Fun place with ping pong tables
Operations Generalist (Former Employee) –  charleston, scOctober 10, 2017
The typical day was spending time on phones and coordinating with the team about contracting freight. I learned the importance of disclosing operational information in the notes. Management was undergoing cultural change. Workplace culture adjusted over time. The hardest part of the job was trying to fulfill the request of all team members and supporting entire office issues. The most enjoyable part of the job was booking freight for a broker or fixing a problem.
Pros
fast paced with support options
Cons
dont know

One of the better Supply Chain Firms
Operations Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Nashville, TNJuly 27, 2017
Decent compensation.

Great benefits.

Young Management

NTG does a good job being competitive with the majority of the larger firms. Will more than likely be a top 5 contender in 5 years.

Accounts Receivable And credit risk analyst (Former Employee) –  Roswell, GAMay 28, 2017
Fun place to work. But there is no money to be made at this place unless you are in the sales side and even then I would say only 1 in 12 will make it a year. If you aren't in sales you will never make any money and waste your time

Work Hard, Play Hard Mentality in a 3PL
Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Nashville, TNMarch 27, 2017
- Made 70-100 calls a day (cold, warm, hot, book of business calls) as well as calls to dispatchers, truck drivers, shippers, receivers, etc.. in a competitive, fast paced industry to earn the ability to win and track shipments from start to finish

- A feel for what it is like to create, build, and manage a book of business, a good feel for the logistics industry

-Young, enjoyable group of people in leadership roles within my office that stressed casual/ comfortable dress, loud music playing all day

- The redundant day to day of cold calling on a very saturated market. Way more freight brokers than freight to go around. Kind of sleazy at times to earn business being so competitive.

-The people and the atmosphere of the office, open layout, loud music, casual dress
