No recruiter okay benefits lower pay rates than most travel companies. Hard to get into touch with someone if you do need assistance with anything. You have to advocate for yourself

Great company to work for

Worked with Nomad for a year now, no issues… no recruiters but you get a navigator who is helpful. Paid weekly and on time…. they appreciate staff and send gifts for holidays nurses week etc.

Do not work here

I switched managers more times than I can count, I was not supported professionally or personally, and was overlooked by managers as they cherry-picked their favorites and were given the most opportunities for projects and advancements. I never felt appreciated or seen and I was paid an extremely low salary and was never bumped up.

Pros

Intelligent and driven employees, flexible PTO, workplace culture, transparency

Cons

Disorganized leadership, unclear growth paths, bad pay, contradictory goals

Transparent w/pay-has clinical support team

Agency w/out recruiters. Pay breakdown is posted on website. Clinical team and “Navigators” were supportive throughout assignment. Never had any issues w/ pay.

Undesirable

Nurses are problem solvers. There’s a problem or issue you fix it and quickly. Nomad’s position: canned response with concerns. 1. Notified them I didn’t get holiday pay. “We don’t give holiday pay”. The facility pays all their employees Easter holiday pay…Nomad did not pay me. 2. I did not get paid for a week of work. “Thanks for letting us know the problem. We’ll look in to it and get back to you”. As a travel nurse I don’t expect a ton from the recruitment company I work for. We are both here to conduct business. The only thing I will take personally is my money. The nonchalant attitude of responding to staff in a laissez faire manner is a lesson learned. The good news…you are one of many. As a travel nurse I will advise others to avoid interaction with this company.

Pros

Travel nursing is a great opportunity. It doesn’t matter what company you go with.

Cons

Deflective problem solving, Lack of accountability, Feigning concern but truly blasé about issue you have.

A great travel agency

I’ve been with this company for a year and change - worth sticking with. The rates are competitive and often better than other agencies, and their quick apply process is simple/easy. The cost of benefits for a family is excessive, even with the higher rates.

The "mission" of the company has no bearing on their initiatives or strategy.

What is the best part of working at the company? The salary was quite competitive for the vertical. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The complete lack of reality in which the company OKRs were developed and implementedWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company? The culture was good but shallow: at first there was a feeling of positivity and community within the employees, but after a period of time it was obvious most of this enthusiasm was forced and sometimes "ordered" by managementWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Multiple meetings that could have been driven asynchronously, little to no feedback from management

Easy. Hassle free contacts to get a 13 week contract

What is the best part of working at the company?Easy info on salary and locations that are available What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Travel distances by car. Finding own housingWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Easy communication and you are assigned a navigator after your assignment is confirmed What is a typical day like for you at the company?Depends on the assignment. Clock in and out using the App

Inconsistent

Great workplace culture but with the downturn in the travel nursing industry as well as recruiting there is a bit of a scramble to pivot. Interesting to see how we will restructure in this new market that is no longer being buoyed by COVID.

Very professional place to work for! Very accommodating and understanding r/t work/life balance!

Great place to work for! Everyone was professional and treated you like a person and not a number! I would definitely recommend them to any nurse just getting into travel as they made it a very painless process.

Pros

Pay and bonuses

Cons

Great benefits

Great benefits but goals were a bit all over the place. Sad they did mass layoffs. The perks were amazing and the work load wasn’t much, a lot of screen time involved.

Great support

Great support but hard to get assignments. I have been submitting for jobs in NY relentlessly and still no luck. I may have to try another agency soon.

Some good people here but shady company practices

When I worked here I worked with some fine people and the company seemed well run and well structured. However they shocked many of their employees in early '23 with a round of layoffs. The higher-ups at this company are seemingly nice but also shifty and duplicitous. The whole operation seems like a hustle where they got their profits right away and then cut about 17% of staff, using the excuse of "post-pandemic-related issues." This may be so but then that means they did not plan properly as they obviously should have.Overall a disappointing company that ultimately uses some of its most talented employees and then drops them like a hot potato. There were some very dedicated people here who unfairly got axed and are now unemployed. Nomad is also not providing much assistance job-seeking assistance to them. Bottom line is there were poor decisions made in this company from people did not plan right for the future.

It takes 1 month to be submitted to a job.

This company is horrible. You put all of your personal information to make a profile and all of a sudden they reject you in 20 minutes stating someone else got the position and although you're not a nurse you aren't familiar with the charting system. It's completely fraudulent. Be very careful putting your social security number into their system. Avoid this company at all costs because you will not be submitted for at least 1 month.

Pros

Fraudulent pay scale

Cons

No human beings, poor submittal process, and website leaves a lot to be desired.

Simple Straightforward Process

If you know the travel world this process is made so much easier. If you are unfamiliar the first contract might seem intimidating with no recruiter but really its just a bunch of pre employment stuff you need to be aware of. They were great when I worked for them, super nice, reasonable. When I was sick with COVID I got paid time off even though I wasn't there for more than 3 months. They did drop my rate by 50% the last month of my extended contract which put a sour taste in my mouth but that was the covid money running out. Not that it makes it right. I chose not to extend and was still treated with respect with no DNR issues.

Meets my needs

If you are the type of person that isn't needy and just wants to do their assignment perfect agency for you. Recruiter is not trying to speak on the phone weekly. Communication is a bit slow but that is fine with me, it is mostly through email or text.

What I learned

Your are not assigned a recruiter, until after you receive a job offer. This can be helpful in some ways, and in others not. The experience would be more personable if a recruiter were assigned prior to applying for jobs.

Pros

Higher pay due to not receiving a recruiter until after job acceptance

Cons

Hospital descriptions are basically sub par

Travel nursing/contract

Nomad has been a decent company for travel nursing. No complaints. Once the contract is signed, things go quickly. Wish you could talk to a real person more often.

Pros

Pay is more than most.

Cons

No live person to talk to, all done via text and website. Getting a new assignment can take a long time.

Nice company to work with

I started working with Nomad for my travel assignments a year ago, and I've had a pretty good experience. Nothing to really complain about since the good/bad experience really depends on the hospitals, although I wish there were more variety in the available contracts in my state since they're the only company I work with right now. But even with the lack of options, I haven't had an issue with finding work. My navigator is really nice and helpful, as are the other people within the company that I've had to talk to.

Mission driven, high energy company

Great place to build a career and have an impact that you can be proud of. I've been able to advance my career significantly being here and I think the team is great.
