Not a place for a Woman
Plant Operator (Precip) (Current Employee) –  Geismar, LAFebruary 19, 2018
No accommodations for women, no privacy for women, this place has a lot of flaws, they discriminate against women working in the field, they show no appreciation no matter how hard you work. This place is set for women to fail at there career

Not a good place to work
SUPERVISOR (Current Employee) –  Gramercy, LAJanuary 10, 2018
The plant lacks structure and safety is not a priority. The training program needs a lot of work. I have been through 3 superintendants in 8 months. It is better to be an hourly worker here.

Great place to work. Great people and good benefits. Would be better if pay was more competitive with other businesses. Overall i would recommend this as a great for entry-level work.

Productive and challenging place to work as the industry is going through changes.
Human Resources Manager (Former Employee) –  Gramercy, LAApril 16, 2015
Noranda provides a mentally challenging environment as the aluminum manufacturers are re-evaluating their business models. Noranda being a fully integrated manufacturer should be able to withstand the industry pressures.

NDE Inspection Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Gramercy, LADecember 22, 2014
Assign examination jobs to technicians and review findings of completed examinations. Perform workplace safety inspections. Prepare inspection scopes, drawings, data programs. Perform inspections of pressure vessels, piping, tanks, and structures. Prepare reports and notifications. Prepare welding procedures and perform QC. Manage contracts with quality control services providers. Priorities shift quickly due to actual emergencies or perceived emergencies. The most difficult part of the job is keeping personnel productive while performing numerous tasks during constantly changing situations. The days go quickly and there is often autonomy in decision making.
Pros
Good pay, familiar with the problems
Cons
Limited resources, high turnover, frequent leadership changes, vague direction

Communications and Human Resources
Communications Specialist, Human Resources (Current Employee) –  Gramercy, LAJune 10, 2013
A typical day at work is that it is never typical. In the field of communications and human resources, you have to be able to adapt and adjust your work-load to accommodate the many different obstacles that arise day-to-day. I have a great team of employees that make coming to work an enjoyable, productive experience. Cultural change within an organization can be extremely difficult at times, but watching employees grow and development through career building opportunities is intrinsically motivating for me personally.
Pros
Great Team of Employees
Cons
Market Instability
