Pays well, awesome benefits, laid back environment
Water plant operator II (Current Employee) – Wylie, TX – December 5, 2018
I am grateful for the opportunity to work for a company that pays well and appreciates their employees. Certainly no work place is perfect but NTMWD is the best job I have ever had and I plan to stay until it’s time for me to take advantage of their awesome retirement plan!
Benefits, payment, organized, room to advance within the company
Heavy Equipment Operator (Former Employee) – Melissa, TX 75454 – October 17, 2018
I was employed here for many years. Rare for anyone here to be promoted based on skills or hard work. MOST of the time it is due to how much you can simply say yes and kiss up to the bosses. Upper Management is beyond incompetent. If you are a failing management professional, apply here! You will rise in the ranks. Gross incompetence. The department to absolutely avoid would be anything in the Solid Waste division. NTMWD pays well, benefits are ok but going downhill quickly. The retirement plan was good but has become terrible from my understanding. Stay Away
Pay, Insurance, Doesnt lay-off
TOP HEAVY management. Incompetent management. Retirement. Work Life balance
IT Controls Supervisor (Former Employee) – Wylie, TX – September 18, 2018
Management only cares about themselves. Mid-Level management lies and does whatever needed to cover their own backs. Pay is below industry standard. Evaluation and review process is the worst I've ever seen. Company prefers to hire lazy people, and then protect them when actual workers are hired.
NTMWD is a great place to work for. The culture is changing, and for the better. All of the employees are going through a transition phase, but the main difficulty is the removal of the good old boys mentality. The District will improve once its old culture is eliminated.
