Fun and safe
Floor Hand (Former Employee) - Levelland, TX - August 23, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNorton energy is a great place to get your foot in the door for the oilfield (drilling side) safety is number 1 , the bond you get with your coworkers is awesome just don’t be lazy and you shouldn’t have a problem with your crew and make a hand! Always help out! Could up the per diem though! Home every night (on certain rigs) there is definitely room to advance up

Productive
Motorman (Current Employee) - Loving, NM - January 20, 2023
Cool place to work for cool people, if they put you on the right rig. Seven days on and Seven days off not too bad. 12 hour tours and has a man camp for employees.

Good job to work with a family
Motorman (Former Employee) - Levelland, TX - December 10, 2019
The tours were only 8 hrs a day, with a 12 on 4 off schedule which benefits anybody with a family and a set schedule. Good pay for 8 hrs a day. Work location is also not far from home.

Poor management
Driller (Current Employee) - Lubbock, TX - September 17, 2019
Could not ask for days off Or pay for driving to work . Over 2 hrs away sometimes . We couldn’t train employees the way they needed . Also bullied in to treating new hires differently to get them to quit . Humbling to work there .

Fast paced but they teach you a lot and never leave you hanging.
Motorman oil field (Former Employee) - Levelland, TX - March 2, 2019
It was a really good job starting in the oil field industry. It’s a little rough in the beginning because it’s like learn on the go, but when it’s slow drilling there is a lot that can be learned.
Pros
Good money and overtime
Cons
Being away from family

Over all 2 stars
Motorman (Current Employee) - Lubbock, TX - August 10, 2016
I m still currently working here..even though the oil per barrels low the owner manages to keep us working! However the long hours plus the cutthroat management an backbreaking labor will eat at your life...pay is good though
Pros
Pay, bonuses
Cons
Management, long hours, inconsistent hours/pay

Hard work that pays big
Roughneck (Current Employee) - Levelland, TX - April 25, 2013
if you enjoy hardwork then roughnecking is the right job for you, I enjoy the people I work with and have learned so much in the 2 years that I have been in the oilfield, I previously worked in retail and was management and just thought that I understood what it meant to work hard on a daily basis. Well I was wrong, but in the 2 years I have kept an open mind and remained positive to ensure that I continue to better myself and learn as much as possible. This has always made it easier to continue to learn because the people see that I am open to learn and they like to teach me new things.
Pros
good pay
Cons
long days and away from family alot
