Depends on your department. My department is open 7 days a week, 8 hours a day. Bedside nurses typically work three 12 hour shifts.

Keep in mind that “management” is a very generic term. Each dept, service line, facility, and the organization as a whole has management. Take it into consideration what the complaints are and know that changes happen all the time. I think that overall, executive leadership has our best interest at heart. Sometimes they have to balance it with fiscal responsibility or changes in our industry and sometimes that doesn’t feel good. Overall, it’s a good company to work for but there will always be challenges somewhere.

Meet with hiring manager and sometimes the team depending on the department. The leadership positions can also have interviews with other leaders. Novant recently implemented new hiring software so you take a test before your resume ever gets pushed to the manager. It is a tool that determines if you are a good fit for our culture or not, but it is not the ultimate deciding factor.

The overall culture is positive & diverse. However, it will greatly depend on where you work as it can vary as to how much they abide by it. In response to managers answering to no one...false. Everyone is accountable to someone, even the CEO.

If you take off for the holiday then it comes from your PTO. If you work designated holidays, you can get extra holiday pay. It depends on your job title though.
