Not great
Accountant (Former Employee) - Colorado - November 1, 2023
Terrible on boarding. Not much follow through from managers. I was hired then asked to drive five hours to help a client for one week. There was a closer office but they refused to do the work.

Best! place to work
Recruiter (Current Employee) - Salt Lake City, UT - October 18, 2023
I truly enjoy working for NOW CFO. I have learned a lot and I have been offered growth opportunities. The management here are supportive and encouraging, with that said that doesn't mean our management is perfect and no company ever is. The key thing I have seen here at NOW CFO is that if you struggle with your job, our leadership goes above and beyond to help you. Management wants you to succeed and win. I have seen employees come and go and leave outrageous reviews on the company, when in all honesty they were given a lot of support but they were not willing to be coached or trained. Overall NOW CFO has a "roll up your sleeves" culture and for those willing to put in the work will see A LOT! of success.
Pros
Growth Opportunities, Great Culture, Great Commission Structure
Cons
Not all employees are bought into the process but those that are see success.

Would not recommend
Controller (Former Employee) - Denver - October 9, 2023
Onboarding was a lot of training in a corporate way. Lots of how to upsell clients, keep them happy, and bill them accordingly. I was told a "salary" of a certain amount on the job post and during the interview, and once they decided to hire, the offer letter was hourly. Not salary. This company has had a lot of growth by charging over 3 times the amount to the client that they pay you. Literally OVER three times the amount they pay you. A lot of clients have a problem with this rate when they get their invoice, understandably, but you will be to blame by management that the client isn't happy. Management has provided zero support and they're only interested in you when you're making them money.
Pros
remote work
Cons
poor management, unorganized, only interested in you if they can make a margin on you

Poor management and disorganized processes
Senior Controller (Former Employee) - Las Vegas, NV - June 21, 2023
My onboarding 3 weeks, was all about sell sell sell! Poor management style, very unorganized. They only put high paid controllers on jobs as it’s against their policy to hire accounts and accounting managers. The clients are getting gouged by paying almost $200 an hour for a controller to do the data entry and bookkeeping level accounting
Pros
Can’t think of any
Cons
See description - poor management

Great place to work with lots of opportunity and flexibility!
Director (Current Employee) - Las Vegas, NV - January 24, 2023
NOW CFO is the best company I have ever worked for. It is perfect for someone that is independent and a self-starter. There is not a lot of hand-holding or micromanagement, so if you need more direction and training, this may not be the job for you. However, the team is amazing and there is plenty of support when you need it. Sometimes you are onsite with clients, other times it is remote. Every engagement is different and that makes the job more unique. I love the variety! The company discusses regularly how they want to promote from within, and there is plenty of opportunity to do so. They are very genuine in that respect. They really take care of their people.
Pros
Flexible hours, self-directed, great management
Cons
multiple clients can mean being pulled in multiple directions at once, just manage your time well

I’m Irritated
Consultant (Current Employee) - California - December 21, 2022
This is a difficult review because I have some great experiences with Now CFO but some bad ones too. I don’t really feel supported by my manager. I have one large client that takes up almost full time hours and had some ones with minimal hours that weren’t great clients but I was made to feel like it was my fault that things didn’t work out. I’ve had more reasonable support from other teams and Departments than I do from my own boss. I have made this company a lot of money this year and no holiday bonus. I think they do bonuses for FT and salary staff but I work 35 hours a week and they’ve made a lot of money from me and to not get any sort of holiday bonus is a punch to the gut. I don’t receive any benefits- just pay. That being said, I do like the overall culture of the company. Where I have my complaints I also have my compliments and if I could get the two complaints I have (client quality and bonuses) worked out I’d be completely happy to be honest.
Pros
Flexible, opportunity, networking, decent pay
Cons
Bonuses, part time employment is a bummer with benefits.

No commitment to competence or professional expertise
Consultant - Controller (Former Employee) - Portland, OR - July 16, 2022
This company only values billable hours, any which way you can get them. Wants to be a nationwide powerhouse, but they don’t invest in the fundamentals to get there, like training and employee retention. You are not supported in retaining high end clients. Great for lower level bookkeepers and entry level accountants. If you want to do higher level CFO work, this company is not for you.

Flexible and Supportive
Controller (Former Employee) - Portland, OR - June 10, 2022
I loved my time at Now CFO. I really liked the flexibility available in the roles assigned. At times I had one employer that I focused all of my time on and at other times I had multiple employers, which allowed me the diversity of working in different industries. I liked that Now CFO was supportive of my needs in regards to work accommodations. I also liked that we had weekly calls with other consultants in the area to touch base and do weekly trainings. The network of other consultants was wonderful to have for support.

Jobs at NOW CFO
No guidance or direction
Consultant (Former Employee) - Las Vegas, NV - June 7, 2022
I would avoid working for this company. I started and I was thrown into the deep end. I was forced to tasks above the accounting scope. The expectations are high but there is no guidance on how to fulfill your job on a daily basis even if someone else is leading the project. They do not even give someone a chance to prove themselves. Please avoid at all costs.

NOW CFO is a great company to work for. They provide opportunity for growth and will invest in you if you invest back. Most of the management is open to feedback and actually will hear you out. Growth is truly realistic quickly and the culture varies from department to department but over all its continually improving. I love to come to work every day and be a part of what NOW CFO is doing.
Pros
End of month lunches, events and team events, flexibility, and great people. Continuous opportunity for career growth.
Cons

Good place to work, culture needs work, but is developing positively.
Marketing (Current Employee) - Murray, UT - November 10, 2021
First job I've had in awhile where I feel total job security, despite occasional generational disagreements RE: office culture. Since landing at NowCFO I'd been warned to avoid various conversation topics with senior management that would likely result in animosity, but have found nearly everyone throughout the organizational hierarchy to respond diplomatically when I approach them to dialogue. Workplace culture is sort of funny, seems like it's still being defined. The office culture feels a bit dated in terms of workday flexibility/employee trust, as in - I've been told that some management still believes that people sitting at desks = only way to guarantee productivity, but I have yet to have any of my requests to work from home, or make daytime appointments denied. - hence why I feel like the culture is still developing, positively. Outside of workplace style/culture differences, I genuinely enjoy working at NowCFO and appreciate the opportunities to grow that I've been afforded. My fellow colleagues have taken the time out of their days to train me in adjacent roles and been I've able to broaden my skillset significantly in a short time. Feedback is also prioritized, and I've had weekly check-ins since being hired, where I feel comfortable to voice concerns, questions and ideas. Overall, I'm happy to work at NowCFO and feel hopeful for my future here in terms of ability to move up in the organization and to contribute to workplace culture. Almost everyone here has been nice and polite to me, and seemingly interested in collaborating to create a better workplace everyday.
Pros
Growth Opportunities, Upward Organizational Movement
Cons
Some employees seem fearful of management, Occasional Interdepartmental animosity/conflicts

AE Sales team is the most positive place to work here.
Director of Sales (Current Employee) - Murray, UT - August 31, 2021
When I had started here a year ago, there wasn't quite the support or training needed to be successful. Now with some new Management in place and more company resources available, this place is starting to "ROCK". The AE Team is crushing it and breaking records. We have such a great core here now, just can't wait to add more and more to our new positive culture.
Pros
Better resources, comradery and support from managers. Getting a new building and office space.
Cons
older work space

The consultants are very smart and hardworking people and the corporate office works hard to make things happen. Overall, it has been a positive experience for me.
Pros
Growth opportunities, challenging work
Cons
Growing pains

Rapidly Growing Company with Big Plans and Growth for Employees
Manager (Current Employee) - Murray, UT - August 12, 2021
NOW CFO is not a place for a 9 to 5, punch in, punch out position where you just do your job and leave. People who thrive here are go getters, risk takers, and team players who want lift everyone and seek to solve problems. Since joining the company I have had enormous opportunity to grow and learn in ways I never would have had at a larger enterprise. I have mentors and I get to solve real problems that impact the business. I feel like I have meaning. I want to emphasize, though, that I feel this way because I sought out problems to fix, and offered to try new things. NOW CFO has space for people who want to get after it and work hard. If that is you, you will LOVE it here. If you want a job to pay the bills and keep you moving, look elsewhere. But if you want to a challenge and reward, give NOW CFO a shot!
Pros
Great Leadership, Growth Opportunties
Cons
Benefits

I love consulting!
Consultant (Current Employee) - Virtual - August 9, 2021
I love working at NowCFO because it enables me to contribute my experience to a wide variety of client situations and needs across multiple industries. The variety keeps me highly engaged. I love the flexibility of being a consultant - even though I usually put in more than 40 hours a week, I can decide what those hours are. I also enjoy meeting and working with a wide range of personalities, both internal and external. On the HR side, I don't love the way PTO is managed, although my immediate manager does a good job compensating for the rigidity of the official policy.
Pros
Flexible schedule, challenging work, great team
Cons
HR policies are somewhat rigid

Always something new and challenging.
Consultant - CFO (Current Employee) - Salt Lake City, UT - August 9, 2021
Able to put my expertise at work on various projects as well as establishing long term relationships. Client companies have accepted my help and assistance as a trusted advisor and value my input, which from my point of view is one of the ultimate work goals,
Pros
New projects, different areas of expertise exercised and valued input.
Cons
Surprises - but that keeps it interesting.

I think it's a great place to work.
Sales (Current Employee) - Salt Lake City, UT - August 6, 2021
I think it's a great company to work for. I've had some great managers over the years. They take the time to train and recognize the work you do. I can't say there's much of a culture since we are all working either remotely or from home. This company has grown very fast so you will have some growing pains and issues. People are great to work with! I highly recommend NOW CFO!!!
Cons
None that I can think of.

I have learned a lot at my time at NOW CFO. It is a great company if you want to learn and push yourself, and there is a lot of opportunity for growth and opportunity as the company is growing everyday. Work days can be long as there is a lot to do. Departments collaborate a lot together, I have really enjoyed my time here and look forward to the future.
