If you were in charge, what would you do to make NTT DATA Services a better place to work?
I would recognize those that get the work done and council those that prefer to sit back and watch others work.
They need to aggressively pursue new emerging technology opportunities as they will over time erode their traditional business model (offshore application and infrastructure support / management).
What advice would you give the CEO of NTT DATA Services about how to improve it?
Eliminate the strategic business staffing unit and bring that staff on permanently to retain talent. If you spend the money to retain talented hard working employees, you minimize your risk of loosing experienced talent. Your experienced customer facing techs are the face of the company. We can be the difference between contracts being renewed or not being renewed. I have worked for 2 years as a contractor. My KPI metrics are high and I receive great feedback from the management of a major client on a valuable account in the public sector. I was told that the COO of North America wanted to bring contractors on permanently when I was hired. I am still only a contractor after 2 years with 2nd class employee health benefits ($1400 a month, that's a little more than a pay check) and no paid sick days. Let's just say the lawn seems greener at many other employers lawns.
TOXIC, leadership is horrible, training is horrible. You'll be lucky if you get a decent SME.
