On a typical day I would go in and see what parts are on the schedule to go out that day and prioritize work load based on those results. Will usually do some type of training whether it be a new hire or someone who has not done those particular parts before. Make sure my team has the wires they need to build with and if not, I will go to other departments - more... and find out if anyone is working on them or if anyone is available to do so, If no one is available, I will run enough parts for my team.
