Former employee (Former Employee) –  Portland, ORJanuary 30, 2018
Nice people with good intentions but lacking management and career growth opportunities; advancement given to people who belong to cliques; finances and budgeting troubles are red flags; talent acquisition staff is amateurish; good mission but doesn't take care of employees
Pros
parking, massage and acupuncture on site, free trimet pass, small gym
Cons
location is scary, too many managers and not enough employees, basic health coverage, career growth doesn't exist

Working for NWEA in a contract position was fair and equitable. Training was adequate. People were professional and feedback was constructive and timely.

Partner Support Specialist (Former Employee) –  Portland, ORNovember 9, 2017
If you don't play the corporate game at this company you will not get promoted. Depending on your team, you may or may not have the equipment to do your job effectively. While there are a lot of nice people that work for this company, management has moved to a very corporate mentality.

Not for everyone
Business Systems Analyst (Former Employee) –  Portland, ORSeptember 6, 2017
NWEA had a lot of potential, but had some serious flaws as well. Lack of direction and poor management were key to their issues. Despite many great employees, they continue to flounder with identifying who they are as an organization.

Data Processing Specialist- Contractor (Current Employee) –  Portland, ORSeptember 10, 2012
What I have enjoyed most about this company is the lack of micro management. I was given sufficient training and then expected to perform up to par, but they do not look over my shoulder and critique everything. If improvement is needed I am notified, but I enjoy working independently. This is a contractor position, so unfortunately I will not be working here permanently, but FT employees enjoy lots of perks and great benefits. It has been a great temporary job, and is a great company.
Pros
free drinks, occasional free breakfast, ping pong table, laid back boss.
Cons
temporary position
