Receptionist, Technical Support, Medical Records in Chicago, IL 60611

Everyone there is so incredible nice. If I could I would return but do to my circumstances I am unable to. I recieved training from most of the staff on things here and there. When I made a mistake someone would always approach me calmly and tell me what I did wrong and how not to make the same mistake again.

The practice is typically busy with phone calls. I learned a lot about the medical field. The workers are welcoming even if they are under a lot of stress. The management needs a little improvement. The most enjoyable part of the job is learning and having the opportunity to meet patients and seeing them feel comfortable and satisfied with the practice.

I haven't worked in Nye Partners in Women's Health in many years. I worked the front office by greeting patient's, letting them know if the providers were running on time, scheduling appointments, preparing charts for the next day, stuffing OB packets and taking messages. My responsibilities were pretty clear cut. To work here required flexibility in order to travel to a 2nd office since the providers were affiliated with two different hospitals. I did not mind this at all. I learned quite a bit from working in this office since it was my first "real" job. The head provider was awesome to all of employees. I'm not sure if the office still manage the employees the same but when I was there, my medical terminology class was paid for and I was sent to a 2 day nursing triage conference in New Orleans. All expense paid, meaning I did not have to pay for my airfare, hotel, conference, food or books from the conference. The head provider also brought the children of the staff gifts for Christmas every year and everytime she went on vacation, she brought back presents for the children. Another perk that I remember is that she took the entire staff to a play and dinner for Christmas every year. Like I've said before, I'm not sure if she continues to do this but when I was there, she was very giving. She even had 401k for her employees, I did not know this until I resigned from my position. I remember getting a bonus once a year and the yearly raises were great! I also remember not having health insurance for my children and no prenatal insurance but I believe this has changed. My co workers at the time were great. It was a family atmosphere. I believe we had monthly meetings which always went smoothly. The hardest part of the job that I can remember was that overtime was mandatory and I never got off on time which was not a good mix when i had young children. Another hard part of the job were the very needy VIP patients who had HIGH expectations from the staff. I clearly remember one telling me that my mother had no business giving me a greek name if I wasn't greek. Then she went on to teach me how to say my name correctly which was very insulting. She gave this lesson in front of the main provider and that provider did not say anything to take up for me. But after the person left, the provider told me that I handled that conversation very well and professional. It was most disturbing to learn that while the provider treated the staff well, she will not stand up for you when her clients disprespect you. The most enjoyable part of the job was the co workers and the experience that I gained. I do not know if I would ever work there again but I would recommend others to work for NYE PARTNERS IN WOMEN'S HEALTH.
