Medical Transcriptionist (Former Employee) – Township of Brick, NJ – March 11, 2018
Started working per diem 3 days a week and was paid my page and made very good money, Then I was forced to go on full time and made less than half of what I usually made for years. Was one of the last employees at Point Pleasant Hospital and was attacked by a crazy guy who attacked the security guard and we had to go to court - when I asked my boss for written report there was none. Transcription department combined with Jersey Shore and Riverview and also outsourced.
Ocean medical was in the process of merging with Hackensack medical group so during this transition there were many neglected employe needs.
Lead parking coordinator and attendant (Former Employee) – Township of Brick, NJ – January 30, 2018
Ocean medical was in the process of merging with Hackensack medical group so during this transition there were many neglected employe needs. The lack if up ward mobility and job advancment coupled with a lack of adequate benifites such as health care leads to high employe turn over and unstaible work environment.
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) – Township of Brick, NJ – January 19, 2018
Quick paced, nurse to patient ratio too high, expected to do to many responsibilities, lack of help, conflict scheduling almost every time I request a day off/need a switch, only allowed 6 days off from June 1 to September 15, cannot request off the week of Christmas to New Years Day, Have to work 2 of the 3 major winter holidays, not given definite 30 minute lunch break, learned a lot working in the Emergency Department, I like my co-workers
FOOD SERVICE ASSOCIATE (Former Employee) – Township of Brick, NJ – August 24, 2017
Started working as a dipper in the line serving quality and healthy foods to the patients in the Hospital. Good relationship with co-workers and leaders (supervisor). They are really friendly and great people, no doubt I would work again at that Hospital.
Very busy 240 bed community hospital. Helpful and supportive management. Culture is growing with support from other nurses in the hospital. Hardest part of the job, not enough staff to cover the amount of work. Most enjoyable part, working with hard working smart, caring intelligent nurses.
Good benefits, practically payed for school and health benefits.
No breaks, little support from administrators who only want to make money.
RN (Former Employee) – Township of Brick, NJ – August 15, 2017
Difficult pace for a new nurse to learn and grow into the role. Good coworkers with a variety of experience that are willing to help. Management is courteous and proper but is also part of the Hackensack-Meridian machine.
Volunteer Services (Part Time) (Former Employee) – Township of Brick, NJ 08724 – July 11, 2017
As a volunteer, I have had wonderful opportunity to work alongside distinguished coworkers at the hospital, the experience was a joyful one. Assist with preparation and sterilization of surgical supplies and medical equipment. Prepared surgical basins with sterilized items needed throughout the medical center. Workplace culture very diverse. From my point of view there has not been any hard part that comes to mind. Every moment is an enjoyable moment with the work staff, they are like a second family.
Staff Nurse, RN (Current Employee) – Township of Brick, NJ – June 24, 2017
The fact that i have been employed here for 18+ years should speak for itself: The culture here is excellent, and while Ocean Medical Center strives to have the most up-to-the-moment treatments available for patients, the hospital itself has retained a small-town family atmosphere in many ways.
