I never had any idea what the dress code was because no one would tell me. They would just say “oh too casual” “I don’t like how that looks” “you can’t wear a sweater” even though I was cold. Once a wore a pair of leggings with a long blouse, no one said anything to me, but called me to the back weeks later to tell me that I can wear anything “athletic” when they weren’t athletic. Managers are HORRIBLE about informing you about the REAL dress code and come up with things they want you to wear themselves.
