Once situated into your cubical, as File/Scan Clerk i was responsible for logging into my email to see if there were any new requests. Whether it was a request for (file lookup, filing, memo creation, phone call request, scanning job, etc) they all had a description and deadline on each request form. I was tasked to completed the request in the alloted amount of time and return to sender either fax or in person, I was responsible for the upkeeping of the request forms and each friday I was responsible for scanning all requests forms of the week to my direct manager before COB.
I worked for two very knowledgeable attorneys, partners in the firm, who worked hard to advocate for their clients. I felt like I was part of that team. The work was interesting. A typical day at work included reviewing files, keeping the attorneys apprized of file progress via Microsoft Outlook email. Some of my duties included drafting correspondence to our clients, the courts, the attorneys for the defendants in our lawsuits, as well as drafting the lawsuits, bank levies, wage garnishments, and discovery requests. I believe I would still be working there if I had not been needed by my family. Although I enjoyed working in the legal field, I am seeking any office position in Las Vegas, Nevada.
