A typical workday is a "hurry up and wait" pace. I often found myself doing mundane work and suddenly being hit with an emergency, or walking in to an emergency first thing in the morning with the afternoon being slow and boring. You really never knew what to expect. I had five direct bosses to answer to, with two bosses over them, two bosses over - more... them, and one boss over them; however, being an assistant I seemed to answer to basically everyone.
