It's generally good. People seem to expect you to be really peppy and positive all the time, but that's just Oklahoma for you. Fervent school spirit is expected even from staff. No other university I have seen has so omnipresent a fixation on their mascot. People here get riled up if you say you don't get why Pistol Pete has to be plastered all over every surface in Stillwater. I find it bizarre but to each their own I suppose.

In my experience with the University, I have been fortunate enough to have supervisors that appreciate the education and skills that you bring to your position. It is all too common to run into "that's the way we've always done it" without any consideration for the best way to do something.
