Nice People

It is rare to find coworkers this nice and supportive. The work was typical administrative duties, insurance and messaging with patients. Great benefits.

Family Oriented and a Fun Place To Work

A typical day at work for me is making sure that patients get the care they deserve. I have learned that great patient care is a vital part of todays society. Management here at One Medical is deemed to me as fair. No one shows favoritism and they push you to strive for the best and gives true and positive feedback when needed. There is nothing hard about my job and the most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that at the end of the day I have made a difference in someone else's life.

Pros

Monthly company paid lunches and outings with co-workers

Thank you for the feedback. I agree with you -- having a positive impact our patients' lives is incredibly fulfilling. Thank you for your contributions to our mission. Trent GreenChief Operations Officer

Stressful environment

Training was great and though it's hard to prepare you for every scenario the calls are extremely back to back and most are very stressful due to the nature of each call. The processes are ever changing so customers can be very hostile because the wait times are extensive and their questions are not usually resolved in that call. The one saving grace is that the benefits are pretty great.

Not your average doctors office...

My review on One Medical has everything to do with the summary title. I have worked in the healthcare industry for years in many different roles, and how One Medical operates definitely is not the status quo. My day is focused on ensuring our patients get the necessary authorizations for their procedure orders, consult orders, and medications. I work virtually helping our patients nationwide. One Medical has provided the necessary tools and trainings to ensure that I fell comfortable in my role. My managers are one of those tools. I have the ability to ask for support, where needed, without fear of backlash. Aside from my role, our team has been building our team culture from the ground up.

Pros

Few Meetings, Independent Working, Preset Goals, Great Benefits

Cons

Ambiguous operations, Poor interdepartmental communications, Lack of pathway for upward movement in the company

Productive with growth

One Medical is a good place to work with great people. It allows you to move up the ladder into another field of medicineThey have a great way of making you feel accepted and appreciated. They also acknowlegde the fact that we are all human and sometimes we need time for our mental well being.

Pros

Thank you for this review. We take a human-centered approach to both patient care and our team member experience, which includes allowing for mental well-being. I'm glad you have been able to find the support you need to thrive here!Trent GreenChief Operations Officer

Management is awful

Management that is in place have never been in the field. They have no clue or actual work experience as to how to manage a Community Outreach Rep. They want you in the field booking events but take forever to approve them. Mgr don't care how far you drive to different clinics because they have no clue as to lay out of metro Atl.

Pros

Iora clinics

Cons

Poor Management, High Turnover in GA

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. First, I want to say thank you for your contributions to the team while you were with us, and I'm sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience. While I haven't been made aware of slow approval processes overall, as you know, our managers need to vet all events before approving them so we can make sure we're spending our money wisely. As a result, sometimes approvals can be slower if we need to request more information. I also understand that the size of the Atlanta area means our field reps often have to travel to different parts of the city to serve our seven offices. I have made sure that travel requirements are clearly articulated in job postings and in interviews, so we can ensure our team members understand expectations. I love what I do and what we do BUT...

The work is purposeful and I love the mission, we have had 2 big mergers since I have been here and it has been hard on the OAs/phlebs on the Senior health side. One Medical has 2 separate roles and we do not and it is a lot of work for one person especially when our role has been understaffed. It's a great opportunity for healthcare workers looking to make a difference Though.

Pros

Monday- Friday work, Good learning environment

Cons

no call line or help with call volume in office, back to back visits without task time, all calls are answered in office, understaffed

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and for the contributions you make to our patients. I recognize our Senior Health teams have been through an enormous amount of change over the past two years and I appreciate your dedication to our mission as we continue to integrate the Senior Health practice into One Medical. We're working on pilots to centralize phone support and standardize work to streamline your day--we want to test this before we scale, but if you have any questions or want to share further feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out. Great company with a great human centered mission.

What is the best part of working at the company? The culture. Free to be yourself, while helping the public get access to great primary care. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Working with the public at times can be stressful depending on the reason for the visit.

Overall good place to work

One Medical is a great place to work overall. I will say, since we were bought out by One Medical (previously Iora Primary Care) there seems to have been an expectation for HC's to take on more responsibility in regards to patient care but compensation is not adjusted for the increase in work. The work environment is great for the most part and you do gain a lot of experience working here.

Thanks for your feedback. I know there has been a lot of change since One Medical acquired Iora Primary Care and I'm glad to read that your experience has been mostly positive. We are continuing to integrate our teams and streamline our processes, and my hope is that this will result in an even better experience for our patient-facing team members. Our goal is to all be working at 'the top of our scope' -- that's where we learn the most, find the most fulfillment, and provide the best service to our patients. Trent GreenChief Operations Officer

Job itself is fine

The managers take advantage of their power. They play favorites. It’s all about who you know. The job itself is a decent job, but the managers are what make the position hard. So much negativity. Will literally yell and scream at you in individual meetings but act fake as can be in front of others. They will manipulate you and tell you that you aren’t good enough. It’s so sad. The company in a whole is a good company and the benefits are great. But lots of managers take advantage of their power.

Pros

Benefits and pay

Cons

Management

Thanks for your review, and I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Speaking for myself, as a member of the management team, I strive to be approachable. If you want to talk about any of your feedback in more detail, please reach out. Trent GreenChief Operations Officer

Not what I hoped for

Feels like typical stuffy, corporate healthcare system who cares more about financial gains than patient/employee satisfaction, especially tas the company evolves. Gives off the vibe that they want to be supportive, though no follow through on support is provided, and at the end of the day the most important thing is not the patient or employee experience, but is rather saving face that they’re an integrative patient focused system, when you have providers and all support staff constantly overworked and under appreciated. Lack of communication and transparency as the company evolves. Leadership feels unapproachable. Many patients feeling the negative impacts of corporate healthcare.

Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Delivering great patient and team member experiences remain our top priorities, even as we grow - in fact, we won't be successful if we do not deliver on these promises. I know that our patient-facing teams are busy, and we are continuously improving how we work - for instance, we are implementing demand staffing to alleviate strain, investing in training and development to ensure our teams are set up for success, and improving communications through channels like our monthly operations meetings. Trent GreenChief Operations Officer

If you are hear for benefits, pay, and experience this job is for you!

If you need the benefit and money this is the job for you, the benefits and pay are amazing. The managers are also very nice and most of the time helpful. If you are working in the bay area expect to work hard, especially in the fall and winter months. If you are expecting to take vacations your first year this is not the job for you, PTO is a joke at this job (for all). Vacation and sick time come from the same bucket and the acrual rate is ridiculously small the first year (no unpaid time off option, they force you to use PTO). If you are a new phleb this is a great place to gain experience, and expect to meet some of the nicest people out there and FREE LUNCH sometimes. (Except HR, they suck 90% of the time but what HR doesnt)If you are disabled, don't expect much when it comes to accommodations.

Pros

Great staff, good benefits, fair pay, free lunch (sometimes), experience

Cons

PTO accrual, overworked, lack of flexibility (especially for the disabled)

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We provide all full-time team members with at least three weeks of paid time off in their first year, which increases to four weeks after one year. We also recognize that employees may need to take additional time off while they are accruing PTO, so we allow team members to go into a negative balance as needed for the first 18 months. Regarding your comment about accommodations, if you are comfortable, I encourage you to speak to your manager if you aren't getting what you need, or escalate to me if needed. We want to make sure you are set up for success. Trent GreenChief Operations Officer

Great place to work

Great coworkers, pay, and culture. There's usually no problems with management. They are very flexible and understanding of PTO needs. I recommend highly.

They real know how to treat the people that work for them. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? No stress. They make sure of that. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? They work together with their employees. Team environment.

Great place to start, good stepping stone

Company was great to work for in terms of trying to create a safe and comfortable space for everyone. Horrible flexibility as they only hire full time. If you’re just working and not going to school this would be great for you. Pay is ok. Very corporate vibes, not my favorite. Anyway wouldn’t recommend staying, definitely have a plan b.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you found One Medical a safe and comfortable place to work. You are correct that our Lab Services Specialists are typically full-time employees, but as we grow there may be more opportunities for different schedules. We encourage our team members to explore other roles within the company -- whether that is a leadership role or a different department altogether, so that people can build careers with us for the long term. Trent GreenChief Operating Officer

Good job, awkward office environment

Coworkers in the office did nothing to make you feel welcomed. Hard to get to know the coworkers. Everybody was extremely emotional and it was exhausting to keep up with.

Employees are great but company needs to do better

I enjoyed my time working at One Medical only because of the employees that I got to work with and my manager was the best in terms of engagement progression and support. But in terms of the company they need to do 1000% better because pay is lacking personal time off is whack no wonder they have such a crazy turnover rate because nobody sees them so supporting their songs or the families on the amount of money that they offer.

Thank you for this review. I'm glad to read that you enjoyed working with your team and manager but I'm sorry your overall experience was poor. We take feedback on compensation seriously, and benchmark our total compensation package against like companies in the market regularly to ensure our offerings are competitive. To provide more room for growth, we also introduced more levels for our operations team members to recognize their hard work and create more opportunities for promotions and pay raises. Thank you for your contributions, and best of luck to you in your next role.Trent GreenChief Operating Officer

Disappointing

One medical purchased Iora Primary care and the transition was beyond disappointing. Staff is stretched thin and miserable. Management lacks the transparency that used to make it feel like a true team environment. Upper management is avoidant and cold. As a company claiming to transform Healthcare, they are taking several steps back. Staff genuinely cares but can no longer provide the care patients are accustomed to and deserve. Overall, one medical has made it clear they are completely out of touch with the higher level needs of the geriatric population and uninterested in employee feedback and satisfaction.

Pros

Amazing colleagues and patients, benefits

Cons

No breaks, lack of staffing

Thank you for taking the time to leave a candid review. I know change is hard, and every integration comes with some bumps, but I want to assure you that employee experience is very important to us - our mission is not only to transform healthcare for patients, but for our team members as well. I'm sorry we didn't deliver that for you. Your feedback is also important, whether it's through Glassdoor, our engagement surveys, or other channels, and I take your comments seriously. We continue to invest in resources to ensure we are serving our senior patients appropriately, including our geriatrics domain working group and our senior health clinical leadership team. Trent GreenChief Operating Officer

Gaslighting was rampant

I worked as a provider at a One Medical office for a few years, and found that the OMD gaslighted the providers, and pressured us into prescribing excess controlled substances. Patient satisfaction consistently mattered more than quality medicine. Management tried to pressure me into putting my license at risk. I do not recommend working here if protecting your license is a priority.

Pros

Lunch break

Cons

Gaslighting providers, patient satisfaction superseded quality care

Most people really care, progressive environment, but sustainability falls on the backs of field teams

Overall the mission is fantastic, you work with people that care and find yourself surrounded by hard workers. Heroic work happens every single day. However, on the ground floor you have lab techs and managers sobbing from stress and bonding over burnout because onboarding cannot keep up with the need and/or finance doesn’t approve the staff necessary for teams to feel supported. Turnover increases year after year. Leaders cover substantial gaps in staffing with no additional pay. No bonuses other than RSUs that don’t vest for 4+ years. Providers generally like their environment and work load; the company (for obvious reasons) focuses on their work/life balance and it’s sustainability. There has been much improvement in BIPOC inclusivity but it’s still not reflected on the c-suite level. There is no negotiating possible at One Medical, at any level.

Pros

Free snacks, good people that care about patients

Cons

Staffing doesn’t keep up with company growth, No bonuses, Field management teams act as a catch-all, minimal development training

Thank you for taking the time to write this review--while it hurts to read, your feedback helps us get better. I recognize our field team members are busy and are critical to serving our patients but the sustainability of your role is just as important. In terms of compensation, you are right that we avoid negotiating--this is to maintain pay equity, regardless of one's negotiating skills. However, we did recently introduce more levels for our operations team members to recognize hard work and create more opportunities for promotions and pay raises. We also recently hired a provider to lead our Diversity, Inclusion and Health Equity efforts, as we recognize we have more to do in this area. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you want to discuss your feedback, compensation, or anything else in more detail. I want to make sure you are supported.Amy FinneyVP, Operations
