Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZAugust 11, 2019
Too many cliques and management is a joke. Too many inconsistencies that make if difficult to know what you are supposed do. So, some days you are good and some days you're not.

Loan Disclosure Specialist (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJuly 24, 2019
If you are a temp/ contractor don't bother working here. They promise to be full time employee but don't buy the lie. If you are direct hire you should be fine. Most of management is a joke but the pay is good and the benefits for direct hire employees are good. Company environment is lots of little cliques so if you fit in the clique you should ve good. The best parts are the candy wall, game room and relaxtion room.

Member Care Center (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJune 4, 2019
OneAZ is a great company that believes in their employees being happy with their job. Unfortunately there is not much room for growth within the company.
Pros
Work/Life balance, employee appreciation is well displayed
Cons
No room for growth

Great local employer with a variety of positions.
Member Care Representative III (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZApril 3, 2019
Not for profit so pay is a bit lower than equivalent positions. Great work/life balance as you get to work "banker's hours." Room for advancement/moving around in the credit union but only if someone else vacates a position. The hardest part of the job was dealing with members who didn't take care of their bank accounts. The most enjoyable part of the job was dealing with members who were interested in learning about their accounts and our products. Also the people who work at OneAZ are pretty cool as well.
Pros
great work/life balance, "banker's hours, " good benefits
Cons
Hard to move into different positions due to lack of availability

Specialist (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZMarch 23, 2019
This credit union used to have clear values that were never compromised under any reasons. Now, this place is plagued with former Wells Fargo and other big banks' employees that have brought a toxic culture with them. The problem is not the CEO of the organization, as a matter of fact, he is highly regarded by all associates; however, there are multiple egotistical and power-hungry individuals in middle and upper management that have ruined this cooperative. Loyal associates have become disposable, and many have been let go because it is all a big popularity contest. You will get ahead if your manager likes you, otherwise, you will be pushed out of a job.
Pros
free candy, big parking lot??
Cons
toxic people

Terrible Management Ruins a Great Company
Supervisor/Manager (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZFebruary 10, 2019
Management is largely clueless about the departments they oversee and shows a complete lack of interest in learning about the department they oversee. Management spends most of their days having personal discussions rather than work related topics.

If there was one topic to describe pretty much the entire culture at OneAZ it would be "knee jerk reaction". Nearly all decisions are made reactively and there are little efforts to be proactive.

Stifling environment to develop and grow, and management shows little to no interest in developing associates. Lots of micromanagement as well.
Pros
Candy wall, great benefits
Cons
Terrible Management, lack of foresight, too many knee jerk reactions

Loan Processor (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJanuary 2, 2019
I've been employed with oneaz for going on 8 years in April 2019. I left for a short period of time to another credit union but quickly had to come back because the work culture here is phenomenal.

Consumer Lending Manager (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJune 25, 2018
Highly intelligent senior management team, however when it came to promoting from within, it wasn’t there. I was doing the job of 2 Directors (both were fired) and my job managing a staff of 24 and was made a team lead for a technology upgrade and was not recognized (promoted or compensated after 18 months of 60+ hours per week, I was burnt out. I loved my job but was just burnt out.

Member Care Representative (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZNovember 30, 2017
Company was fairly standard for a Financial Institution. Management was a mixed bag, as with most companies. The head of the department was extremely understanding and helpful, but the floor managers would encourage questions and offer assistance until they were in fact called upon. This made actually seeking assistance to feel like a burden and greatly increased the stress that comes with a call center position.
Pros
Free Candy bar, good benefits
Cons
Shift managers allow stress to affect their performance too frequently.

Pros- Candy Bins & First Aid Kit
Cons- Management doesn't know what they are doing. Director shops all day and has her favs. Stingy with taking time off and only get 2 weeks off. Pay sucks, bonus is not a bonus it's to take your family to McDonalds.

Great Hours, Not Great Benefits
Associate (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJune 14, 2017
OneAZ has great hours that make work life balance easy. However, the benefits are not great (PTO, pay), the company is slow to change/upgrade, and new ideas are not often implemented.
Pros
Great hours
Cons
Low compensation and benefits

Fantastic Place to Work
Technical Writer (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZFebruary 20, 2017
The culture at OneAZ Credit Union is paralleled by startup companies. The mantra is "associate focused, member centered." The benefits are wonderful, the amenities in the corporate break room are wonderful, and the co-workers are very driven and interested in making lasting relationships--not only with members--but also with fellow associates.
