Challenging yet very rewarding.

As a former teacher at Opportunity Charter School I found the student population can be a bit challenging. However, the amount of collaboration that exists between teachers, social workers and administration has big payoffs. Students who learn, graduate and are happy.

Every day has its challenges and the students definitely keep me on my toes. OCS has a much bigger support team than most schools. There are a lot of social workers and a behavior team who really help when you need them. Great Place to Make a Difference

Teaching and working in a school can be challenging, but I feel appreciated by my students and their families (most of the time) and the administrators. It's not an easy job, but I feel supported. When I go home at the end of the day I feel like I have made a difference.

unorganized work place

The teachers and social workers support each other. The students are disrespectful and run to the administration with complaints about teachers. The teachers are not valued.

No support

Lack of support from admin. Students do whatever they feel. Middle school students run wild making it impossible to get through lessons. Admin is unsupportive and unorganized. Attempted to implement cell phone plan was miserable fail.
