Orchard went downhill a bit when they were bought by an investment firm. It went from a family like culture to a typical job culture. Too bad because it was fun back in the day.

I've worked here a long time, from entry level, to management. I've always felt welcomed, appreciated, and valued. Sure, there are hard days, stretches where there is a lot to do, but it all pays off in the end.

Do you enjoy being underpaid and overworked? Do you enjoy around an hour or more of overtime every single day you work? Do you like to be micromanaged? Do you enjoy not being properly trained for the job your performing? Do you enjoy doing a job that could be 100% remote in the office instead? If you answered yes to all of these questions, this is the job for you! The job has potential but in the short time I was there most of the changes that came either seemed to make things worse or not help at all. If you’re interested in sticking with a mediocre job for several years maybe things will get better, but in my opinion it’s not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend working here to anyone but someone fresh out of college who is DESPERATE for experience and even then you can probably do better.

Management is terrible. You deal with severe burnout, they don't look to implement solutions until it's too late. They then blame everyone else. Work hours are wild, you never know when you'll gett of work. It's not difficult for it to end up a 12 hr day.

When you start working at Orchard, you are under a large amount of stress to get adapted to the software quickly, which I understand. But the problems come in because the software is incredibly customizable. You can have three of the same issues come in and they are broken in 3 different ways. Additionally, the support team is too small for the ticket workload. This can lead to easy burnout and heavy pressure to close tickets when the system makes it rather difficult to do so. You are required to give users 5 business days to not contact you back before you can close an issue due to inactivity. The policy is in place to prevent the same issue from coming back, but they still do. There can be a lot of walking on eggshells that make you feel like it would be best to switch departments before you are ready.
