Great Faculty. Administration and management are abysmal.
High School Teacher (Former Employee) –  Georgetown TexasMarch 8, 2018
The saving grace of this school is it's staff and students. The management and administration are, with few exceptions, incompetent and unqualified. Their lack of education and experience with leadership and education management are apparent in the constant overturn of teachers and other staff at the school. I was told on several occasions that being overworked and underappreciated are simply "part of the culture" at the school. The administration is well known for telling its employees to either suck it up or leave because they are replaceable. Overall the kids are amazing and the other faculty are wonderful. The administration makes it impossible to enjoy either or to effectively do your job as an educator.

No advancement, poor management. Lack of compassion for clients they serve. Only focus on how to cut back and give minimal services needed for education.

Orenda consists of multiple types of schools.
Tutor (Current Employee) –  TXMay 5, 2016
Just to clarify, Orenda has multiple schools under its umbrella. Not all campuses are residential treatment centers designed for emotionally and/or behaviorally troubled students. Orenda also consists of a rigorous college preparatory school for grades k-12.

Registrar-Canyon Lakes School Campus (Former Employee) –  Lubbock, TXSeptember 2, 2015
Small, residential school for male and female students in grades K - 12 with emotional and/or behavioral problems. Sometimes stressful but the majority of the times is very rewarding because we teach and help at-risk children be successful. Hardest part of the job is watching how these children have been hurt in the past and not being able to reach them becaus they will not allow you to help.
Pros
Affordable healthcare benefits; small, cohesive school; help children with emotional and behavioral problems.
Cons
Located inside a residential treatment center where staff were not supportive of school staff.
