OPT wants to make sure that the best candidate is selected in terms of both skills and as cultural fit for all positions.

Interviews for administrative staff and clinician assistants typically involve a first interview with HR. Those selected for a second interview will then go the clinic where the position is open and do an interview with the staff there.

Interviews for clinicians tend to be longer. OPT sets up 1/2 day interviews at the specific clinic where the position is open. This allows for two specific parts of an interview to take place on one day. The first part is a more traditional interview with the Clinic Lead. The second part allows for the applicant to job shadow other clinicians with patients. During this time the clinic employees will ask questions and determine the clinical reasoning of the applicant, as well as see how well the applicant fits into the clinic culture.
