Portfolio Management Summer Associate (Former Employee) – Washington, DC – January 31, 2018
Great people, interesting and fulfilling work. Great perks/benefits but low pay as can be expected with a government agency. Have seen people lateral to interesting places but mostly to other DFI's and not as valuable of an experience for private sector
Portfolio Management Intern (Former Employee) – Washington, DC – October 7, 2017
Top level management changes with a new administration. The management was excellent while I was an intern there, but I don't know about now. Many of the deals that you work on are interesting, but with profit less a motive than at other institutions, it's easy for people to get by with mixed quality analysis. They have quality professional development opportunities and interns get to hear interesting discussions about the decision making process for deals.
Intern (Former Employee) – Washington, DC – October 21, 2016
OPIC employees generally treat each other well and believe in the mission of the organization. You work with many very talented people who are good at their jobs. Many learning opportunities are available and it's easy to make contact with senior leaders in the organization.
Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) – Washington DC – May 25, 2016
Love OPIC. Great international development mission and dedicated staff. Many travel opportunities around the world. Everyone is generally friendly. However, departments need to break down silos and encourage better communication.
Overall the organization fine would not recommend the information center
not applicable (Former Employee) – Informaton Center – November 26, 2013
OPIC overall is a nice place. I would not recommend the information center, staff is behind the times technology wise and not friendly. They do not allow you to take any initiative and are condescending. Supervisor has poor managerial skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
