Not a good or healthy place to work
Marketing (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAFebruary 7, 2019
Biggest fear-based culture I've ever worked in. Many lay offs (4 in 4 years.) Zero concern for people. Dishonest leadership only looking out for themselves.
Pros
Occasioanl free lunch on Friday. Free snacks and La Croix/sodas. A few good people still there
Cons
Dishonest leadership, zero concern for people/employees, declining industry (beer is dying)

Great place to work with a great culture
Senior Director Brewery Retail & Real Estate (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CANovember 12, 2018
Really enjoyed working here with a great team of collaborators. The beer business is both challenging and dynamic - it remains a challenge for PBC to find its long-term, sustainable niche within the beer industry, particularly with the ongoing relationship issues it has as a contract brewer within the Miller-Coors system.

Fun work culture. Flexibility to work from home and on the road. Travel reimbursement and car allowance was small. Some great leaders that were pushing toward great internal changes.

Staff Accountant (Former Employee) –  San Antonio, TXMay 28, 2018
Enjoyed working for Pabst. The employees and management were great. It was a job that was good to wake up to and go to work. If one has the opportunity to work there, do so.

The job was fun and challenging, there was plenty of help if needed. Great team atmosphere. There were plenty of opportunities for advancement if you did not mind relocating.

Great Brand / No Clear Direction
Director, Digital & Social Media Marketing (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAApril 10, 2018
When I first started at Pabst Brewing Co., there really was a small "start-up feel" to the office and the employees. We all knew we were in it together and had to make the most of the resources available to us. As the company grew, so did the bureaucracy and red tape. At the end of my time there, it felt less like a collaborative effort and more like a corporate machine. A lot of turnover and uninspired employees.
Pros
Work for one of the best brands in America
Cons
Little, to no, training; very little support or resources

Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAMarch 8, 2018
It is a fun place to work at and it has a good corporate culture in general. The salary and growth is not ideal. The work day is long and demanding. The job has a few cool perks. PBR products and access to exclusive events.

An ever-changing company with occasional knee-jerk reactions with regards to strategy & marketing presence. Solid CEO with vision, suspect people in management

Pays well, that's about it.
Manager (Former Employee) –  Milwaukee, WIFebruary 20, 2018
Pabst Brewing Company doesn't do much to understand their market and keeps launching flops. They spend zero time on product research and consistently throw the baby out with the bathwater anytime things don't pan out. I'm not sure I met anyone that wasn't in fear of the next restructure and either the loss of or complete re-direction of their job-description (spoiler alert, it was usually both!).
Pros
High wages/benefits
Cons
High turnover & lack of direction

Worked the market and used surveys. Managed the wholesaler and helped manage marketing programs and incentive programs. I would then present each month to our team on what was going on in the market concerning trends and market climate.

Fun environment, clique-y in departments
Office (Former Employee) –  San Antonio, TXJanuary 24, 2018
Fun casual environment. Some departments are hard to get along with if you aren't part of the group. Some managers get a big head from their positions. HR is open and willing to listen to your concerns.
Pros
casual, fun
Cons
cliquey, strict no overtime policy

Long hours, always the threat of another reorganization
Area Sales Manager (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAJanuary 24, 2018
Pabst Brewing Company sells the greatest lager ever. However, they were always pushing to sell the next greatest thing. That would be okay but they did not do their homework prior to launches resulting in flawed launches . Due to these failures, they had to reduce staff and have each person do more work to cover the required territories.
Pros
Freedom to hit your goals in the the way that made the most sense for your market
Cons
Always adding KPIs during the year. Increased the work day to above 12hours a day

Sales are down and they keep the sales team
Worker (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CASeptember 14, 2017
This has to be the most mismanaged company I have ever seen. Fronts as a brewery but that is the last thing it is. Chaos is norm, management rejects from Millers, and operations management that is completely clueless. But sales dive and I guess they are doing a great job.
Pros
12 Pack a beer on payday, woo hoo, great VP of IT

Consumer Relations Representative (Current Employee) –  San Antonio, TXMay 23, 2017
Very quiet/repetitive days with not much communcation with other employees. Work days were typical 8-5. Company as a whole is great with multiple perks including free beer and multiple merchandise giveaways. Ultimately its a beer company, so it was a pretty sweet job!
