Highly recommend this industry and company. Working here has been a great experience. The people are very friendly and open to teaching their peers. There is a high chance of improving your personal practice here.

Sales Pitch doesn't match Reality
Advisor (Former Employee) –  Southern CANovember 2, 2017
I witnessed poor management in several locations. Company states it provides clients with a "good life for the rest of their lives" but doesn't provide that for their advisors or their own staff. Overall, well intentioned but disconnected leaders. Poor communication, vision, and implementation. Many talented people fail at this agency for lack of inconsistent and ineffective support. A genuine shame.

Great firm! You get out what you put in. Good managers and team behind you pushing you in the right direction to make money, and helping you on your appointments to close.

I enjoy working with this company as they gave me an opportunity to work on my own time, knowing that I am young and need time to build my market but cannot rely on this as a main source of income.
Pros
Excellent work experience.
Cons
Mostly commission based.

This is a company that does not want you to succeed, they make more money on keeping you dependent on them and taking a 50% "training" fee.
Cons
horrible training

It takes time and plenty of capital to develop your book of business.
Guardian Insurance is a great company, their underwriting process is very slow - sometimes a deal killer.

Be prepared to spend a lot of your own money to build your business.
Payback (unless you're well connected with people who want insurance products) is at least 12 months down the road.
Pros
Good culture
Cons
Slow and expensive to develop your book of business.

Financial Representative (Current Employee) –  CaliforniaJuly 27, 2015
Pacific Advisors does their best to create a sales culture for those with financial representative experience.
The company's biggest strength is taking experienced agents and building their book of business into the advanced markets and hig net-worth client base.

Financial Advisor/Analyst (Current Employee) –  CaliforniaApril 1, 2015
Company is great overall, but management is weak and not really caring of personal success. If you are an experienced advisor with a book of clients than this is the place for you. If not don't bother

Disability Agent Recruiter (Former Employee) –  Seattle, WAAugust 27, 2013
Would spend a typical day calling Ins. Agents to see if they would have any Disability clients they needed help with or applications to process. Would make 30 to more calls a day, send out information packages. Set up outside meetings with clients.
I learned about multiple Disability Companies and the products they sell.
Management was very helpful when having questions and explaining what you needed to do.
We all had different responsibilities to perform and worked well together.
The hardest part was making all the calls and not getting the results I needed.
I enjoyed the office meetings and outside meetings with clients.
Pros
Relaxed atmosphere
Cons
Commute
