Great at first...
Dental Hygienist (Former Employee) - Greater Seattle Area - October 11, 2022
You are welcomed as a new team member. The company even sends you to get training and laser certified. They may even offer a bonus (be aware that this is taxed more than a higher hourly rate). Then it's all about production, and you will eventually feel it. If the pressure does not come from the doctor, then it will from office manager (or regional manager). Asking for an annual raise is a joke being that they will consider it, but ultimately it has to go to the top to get approved, which is an obstacle. All they look at are numbers and how much you produced for them. In a span of a few years, there were maybe 3 months where I had decent bonuses, but it was very hard and dependent on how the front office schedules you. Then they add more associate doctors who take your patients (yes, doctors do the cleanings and SRPs to gain patients and their own production) and say bye to your bonuses. At first, I thought my preconceptions about corporate were wrong but as time passed, the ugly kicked in. I still keep in touch with the doctors and many of the coworkers as we all got along, I still miss the relationships I built with patients, but I couldn't be part of the company model anymore.
Pros
Benefits, laser training & certification, easy hire as a new grad
Cons
Management, company culture, lower than average pay, hard to get raises & bonuses, disorganized

No work/life balance and poor management
Dental Hygienist (Current Employee) - DMV - September 12, 2022
The management is absolutely horrible and that will make anyone a job 10x harder. The only thing they care about is production and getting as many patients seen in a day. There was no set lunch break, and you may often not get a lunch break and leave work very late. I’ve worked in corporate before and this is the worst!

Cons
Poor management, poor work culture
