Good work life balance
Good work life balance and good productivity with good compensation but the management was not quite good and the company is facing bankruptcy so is not quite stable right now.

Excellent company benefits, nice people, variety of work assignments/positions.
Good variety of growth/positions within the company and excellent benefits.
Unfortunately risky time to work there with layoffs.

A slew of meetings.

Constant changes in organizational structure.

Enjoyed the people.

Struggling to stay relevant; all-time low employee morale
With increased competition in the Bay Area, PG&E has really struggled to stay relevant despite being seen as a monopoly in most of their service territory. This trickles into their workforce, as increased budget cuts and headcount reductions add to the already-high stress levels of their individual contributors. Promotions or career advancement seem to have hit a standstill, although top leaders continue to get paid handsomely. It's really hard to stand for a company that has lost touch with their employees.

To add insult to injury, the company introduced a new way of speaking up during our all-employee calls in the form of a website. That was short-lived and honest questions were never answered.

I think this company has lost the respect of both their customer and employees. I can't say I'm proud to work for this company, and it has turned into another line item on my resume. Don't get me wrong, the benefits are still pretty good (401k, pension plan, good health/dental plans) but when you can't find the passion to speak positively at where you work, I think it speaks volumes for the company itself.
Pros
Good benefits, alternative work schedule
Cons
Continued work force reduction, continued budget cuts in the wrong area, low morale throughout the company
