No room for advancement and under paid
Machinist (Current Employee) –  Indianapolis, INMarch 28, 2019
The only good thing that paragon has to offer is benifits. Some of the best offered in the industry. However, the management is aweful. An ungodly lack of communication and you are treated as if you are an inmate or child. There are certain cliques between some of the machinists and management. If you are in that clique you can do no harm in their eyes and if you aren’t, good luck and strap in.

Patient Care Representative (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAMarch 19, 2019
The training was awful, it was an environment where people just didn't seem happy. A lot of attitudes and catty behavior. Being laid off from that job was a blessing.

Low Pay, Production Production Production.
Machinist (Current Employee) –  Pierceton, INFebruary 7, 2019
Management ignores serious quality concerns while demanding precision parts be made on broken down machinery with old poorly made programs. Processes are ignored and changed without documentation. Hour long waits for CMM runs. Most parts require 100% Cmm checks. Quality is stressed but not followed. Problems with programming and tooling are not addressed in a timely manner and often ignored. Tooling is often not resupplied and machinist are required to do most secondary ops. Most days consist of inning down tooling waiting in line for CMM and filling out paperwork. Falsifying documentation and poor ethics run throughout. Pay is very low for the orthopedic machinist profession. Vacation is less than desirable. Negative attitudes and unprofessional behavior is at all levels of employees. It is obvious the company was ran bare bones style by investment companies. Job security is great considering they can't fill positions so most machinist are required to do way more than most places.
Pros
Unlimited overtime
Cons
Poor management, low pay, hostile environment

its a good place to try and get some experience but HR and Management tend to drag their feet with hiring people or moving people to awarded job positions. HR is almost next to impossible to get a hold of.

I run to many machines with very little help from anyone. Most upper management sucks to work with which is the hardest part of the job. Best parts of the job are the employees that make work a fun environment.

The work is easy, management is not, and no upward advancement
Machinist Level 3 (Former Employee) –  Indianapolis, INAugust 20, 2018
The work at Paragon is not hard or complicated, however there is no upward advancement. The management team takes forever to get anything done and when it gets done it is halfway done. Annual raises if gotten don't come close to covering the cost of living increase. You have to fight to make sure that any assistance through any of there programs gets taken care of. Upper management is a joke that doesn't have any idea how things are done on the floor. Horrible management communication. Its set up so eveything falls to the responsibility of the floor personnel.

A great place to work. Great management team with flexibility.
I truly enjoyed the staff at Paragon.

I wore many hats but enjoyed that the company was family oriented and you were not just a number.

My boss took time to mentor me and keep me in the loop as to company processes.

A decent company but wages are not competitive enough. Also lack of vacation time. Job environment relax. People are mostly friendly. A slight lack of communication between shifts and supervisors.

Mangement is terrible. Bosses are terrible. Employees that are hard workers get unnoticed. Job it self is easy if your trained right. You never get credit for what you do there.

Good job with lots of room for advancement. Although experiences vary, I'd certainly recommend this place to a friend. Management is generally very understanding and willing to work with employees.

CELL LEADER INVENTORY & RECEIVING (Current Employee) –  Pierceton, INJanuary 13, 2018
As a lower manager for 12 years w/this company, I am disappointed that they do not do any in-house education or improvement classes. This is a loss opportunity to keep your team motivated and appreciated. Consequently, your team lacks new ideas or motivation.
They become reactionary.

Cutthroat culture
Quality Assurance Inspector (Former Employee) –  Smithfield, UT 84335January 11, 2018
Paragon Medical has a very cutthroat culture. They had the most rude unable to train floor lead that I have ever worked for in my life! The only good thing about working here was working 36 hours per week and getting paid for 40.

Parts run according to due date. Forming is about temperature, The hardest part is trouble shooting.I enjoy it when trouble shooting pays off.Paragon is a relaxed work environment. The coworkers are friendly and helpful. I have learned lot from my coworkers in both forming and silkscreen.. Patience with myself and with others in the work place has been a lesson well learned.

Assembler (Former Employee) –  Pierceton, INSeptember 12, 2017
The job over all wasn't so bad, there were the typical good days and bad days that you could have in any job. The problems I found working there were the pay wasn't where you think it would be for being an orthopedic company. Also, I found that no matter how much work you put in or how hard you worked it never seemed good enough. If you needed to move to a different shift, even for a legitimate reason, the likely hood is slim to none. They have rules set yet don't always follow them. Everyday something is changed making it difficult to follow what is going on and what needs to be done. Plus they don't train their new people that well. You could be there for four month and be lucky to even know where to get certain supplies because it was never shown to you.

Wire EDM operator (Current Employee) –  Pierceton, INAugust 17, 2017
Work isn't bad. I like the medical field and knowing something that I make is helping someone. No proper training everything is rushed and it lacks quality. Very boring job and 3rd shift so even more boring.
Pros
Paid lunch and breaks.
Cons
Short lunch and breaks
