The most useful review selected by IndeedCase gets assigned, make calls, schedule appointments, complete interview...then some more, and type them up to the FED Govt. standards. Will take a year to learn the job...and when you do..there will always be changes...keeps you on your toes. I feel like this job is for people after they retire...since there is no interactions with co-workers. Good job to get a door into Federal agencies if you can market yourself.
Pros
work from home, manage own schedule
Cons
Extremely low pay for the amount of work you do

Inconsistent work schedule, but pays well. They expect you to be on call on your days off. A good retirement job with less stress if you are recently retired from law enforcement.

Great Federal Contractor
Protective Security Officer (Former Employee) - Richmond, CA - January 25, 2023
I like how they pay a "lead" to be onsite in large federal building versus a "lieutenant" Paragon was ran professional and efficient. Management answered questions and handled inquiries.
Pros
Pay, Hours, Paid Training, Pto, Sick Leave, 401 k, Kaiser benefits although expensive
Cons
Train you to be afraid of FPS

Not productive at all, Favoritism, petty envirnment
Detention Officer (Former Employee) - El Paso, TX - January 13, 2023
Management is a joke, the money is good, job is easy. Management will get you in trouble for petty stuff parking, not writing on the log book details, for sitting down or standing up when you're not supposed to. The job itself its easy, not hard at all. The problem here is Rank, Project Manager and they treat you like you're nothing. You are replaceable and will fire you after a write up. They don’t care about you tbh…. Management doesn’t have leadership or don’t lead by example at all. Management will check on you to “make sure you’re ok” hahaha… they do it to see what they can find to get you in trouble for or find something to write you up for… anyways not recommended to work here. Only good for experience and make connections with ICE, BP and Federal Agencies.
Pros
Good money
Cons
Short breaks, favoritism, toxic management

Beware
Protective Security Officer (Current Employee) - District of Columbia - December 31, 2022
You will work until you die here. No one will care. Paragon only cares if you show up and work, if your late you get written up, if you call off because your overworked you'll get written up. Terrible leadership.

Level 3 Commissioned-Public Trust Protection Security Officer (Current Employee) - El Paso, TX - December 28, 2022
What is the best part of working at the company? Fair Pay for El Paso Texas What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lot of politics when it comes scheduling. Management has their favorites who they always give extra hours to instead of distributing fairly. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Work environment- job has good intentions but lacks teamwork Culture- null in void What is a typical day like for you at the company? A typical day is to do what’s expected and stay away from the negativity.

Decent place to work, but leadership is lacking.
Private Security Officer (Current Employee) - Durham, NC - December 13, 2022
Paragon itself is a good company to work for. Decent pay (it could be better) as well as decent benefits. The issue is with the Lieutenants the run the individual districts. Some are so terrible at creating the schedule each week that multiple officers have shown up to a site where only one is required.

Productive
Federal Security Officer (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - December 8, 2022
At first I loved working there..In Houston you have to deal with #1 Federal police popping up observing you doing your job..As long as you know your job no problem. #2 They do secret tests on you and if u fail you can be moved to another post or go back to training. #3. They have an inspector that pops up to make sure u have your credentials and asks you questions. 4. You wear a bullet proof vest while on duty that's uncomfortable. #5. You shoot (qualify) twice a year you fail no job..#6 They provide all the training u need.
Pros
The wages
Cons
12 hour shifts.

Not a good place to work
Armed Security Officer (Part-Time) (Current Employee) - Washington, DC - December 7, 2022
The money is good, but 12hr on your feet and only a 30 min lunch break is not good. All they do is try to discipline you that's it. SEPS are the people that work for DOJ. They try to discipline you for everything and look for something wrong. Poor management is the problem.

A decent place to work.
Nuclear Security Officer (Current Employee) - Herald, CA - December 6, 2022
The pay is alright. The initial training given is easy and pretty much gives you the essentials of your purpose here. Most folks who work here stay for about a year. Because of that the schedule is inconsistent 8 out of 12 months of the year.
Pros
Money
Cons
Erratic schedule

Not for me
Armed Security Officer (Former Employee) - San Antonio, TX - November 29, 2022
The company was not what I expected it to be. Training is two weeks and when you are done they throw you on your own. No one to tell you what to do at a post just read the post order they say. But it hasn’t been updated in years.

Great Pay but employees are nothing more than numbers on paper.
PSO (Former Employee) - Utah - November 24, 2022
While the pay is decent, they are constantly understaffed. New PSO’s are given erratic schedules. When I was new, sometimes I forgot what day it was. The will ONLY hire individuals with at least 2 years of Law Enforcement, Military or Armed Security. There are literally hundreds of people lining up to work for this company but don’t have the experience that they require.

I loved my job over all. I did not like Paragon they did not have the officers back. Some of the people they hired were worthless. The Training was awful.
