Good stay away from management and you will have fun
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWhat is the best part of working at the company? The coworkers are the best 2nd and 3rd shift. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Management is the most stressful. They tell you they will be on the floor helping when shirt staff but they aren't. You'll be lucky if any nurse knows a resident and what is going on with them. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Coworkers make it fun. But again 2nd and 3rd shift are the most fun. Great folks for the most part on those shifts What is a typical day like for you at the company? Working your butt off and having fun while doing it

Caring staff but lack of acknowledgment of the hard workers.
Room Attendant/Housekeeping (Former Employee) - Omaha, NE - June 24, 2023
Staff gets to comfortable and slacks care for the residents. Overnight staff are found sleeping in common areas and on the job duties. Workers take advantage of standing around and lack of work ethic with pick and choosing patients and resident work. Hard workers work harder and the lazy workers get away with less work ethics.
Pros
Free, lunches, benefits
Cons
Team assists, physical lifting, lack of compassion

Overall a good place to work. The residents are great and the management is caring. Sometimes it could be overwhelming but overall I would reccomend it.

Drama drama drama stay far away from this place!
Activities Assistant (Former Employee) - Omaha, NE - September 13, 2021
The residents are amazing but management is horrible! The activities department is the dumping ground for all the work that no one else wants to do and then your constantly told your not doing enough. The activities director will put random activities on the schedule and when they aren’t going well she tell you to problem solve while she sets in her office on Facebook. The management picks favorites and those people don’t get in trouble for anything but if your not a favorite they will write you up for anything. Also management gets rewarded for the work they have pond off on other staff

- Support from manager
- Inclusive work environment
Work with so many people with all different characters & background
Staff (Former Employee) - Omaha, NE - March 20, 2021
The old management was better than the new management. In the new management, if they don't like you, then they are gonna get rid of you, but if they like you, they will keep you. If the other staffs didn't show up, then we had to do overload work which could be overwhelmed and stressful sometimes. A lot of drama in this place, coworkers sometimes go against each others, very unprofessional, and the management just closed their eyes sometimes. Even if you worked there long time, they didn't appreciate you.
Pros
Some of the residents were nice, and staffs got free food on holidays.
Cons
Pay, Management

It has many wonderful residents.
Activity Assistant (Former Employee) - Omaha, NE - February 28, 2021
While working at Parsons House, the management company turned over 3 times. I worked there 2 1/2 years. The Nursing and Adminstrators changed several times.
Pros
A more family like atmosphere because it is family owned and not Corporate owned.
Cons
Some disorganization.

Management doesn’t listen
Would not recommend working here. It is a lot of work and they are usually very understaffed. At times it’s not bad. But usually doing the work of three people at once

Toxic Workplace Culture
Activities (Former Employee) - Omaha, NE - March 31, 2020
Management will accept rumors as fact, and you need to be "in" with the right people in order to keep your job. Nepotism runs rampant. Plenty of bosses - no leaders!

Everyone has a duty and title. But you will find yourself involved, more oriented with the residents. It takes a team to be successful working here.
Housekeeping Assistant (Former Employee) - 14325 Eagle Run Dr. - February 5, 2020
Immediately you become part of the family. Residents and family are most important. Our job is to make your loved one feel comfortable, safe, and assisted. We want you to feel right at home and never left alone. With social groups, entertainment specials, activities, and wellness, you will never feel alone or forgotten. We encourage everyone to get involved with the transition of change with your family
