Member Services Representative (Former Employee) – Fairfield, CA – August 23, 2018
PHC as a company is wonderful, however if you end up in member services you may want to prepare yourself for the worst. Upper management expects for the employees to roll out the red carpet for these rude members, the leads and the supervisors refuse to jump on the phone if you are struggling on a call. This department basically sets you up for failure. I wouldn't recommend this department to anyone.
Compliance (Former Employee) – Fairfield, CA – July 31, 2018
Any reports of discrimination, harrassment or retaliation remain unresolved. There is high turnover throughout the company and new employees recieve little training. Gossip is rampant and poor communication is the norm. Only the favorites employees recieve promotions, vacations, breaks, and a 9/80 schedule.
Sad how employees are retaliated against at this company
Health Services care coordination (Former Employee) – Fairfield, CA and Redding, CA – July 2, 2018
I hoped to retire from PHC, but the management in Redding is awful. I am passionate about helping others, but the constant drama, gossip, managers retaliating and harassing the staff is just too much. Staff turnover is constant and training new staff is very fractured. Many of the company's departments are being run well, but not Health Services. It's appalling how staff is treated. Favoritism is on constant display and the staff does not get recognized for great work. The shadiness of this company in Redding goes all the way up to the new director of the office. Our old CEO retired a few years ago, and he is sorely missed. The new upper management is reasonable, but the HR is sorely lacking and shows.
Great benefits and interesting work
Very inefficient HR throughout the company. Terrible management overall.
Great place to work... The company cares to see it's employees succeed.
HRIS Administrator (Former Employee) – Fairfield, CA – March 2, 2018
Working at PHC was a great experience for me. There was plenty of work, which is a good thing.
As a HRIS administrator, my typical day included managing PHC learning management (LMS) and performance systems. Duties for managing both systems included researching, uploading, and troubleshooting, and reporting LMS content for management and employees, managing the appraisal processes, and a number of other responsibilities.
The most enjoyable part of working for this company was the family atmosphere, due to the relatively small number of employees.
All in all, PHC is a great place to work!
The environment, the people, and the continual opportunity to learn new skills.
Temp employees are often excluded from company events, which is somewhat normal.
Claims Examiner II (Former Employee) – Fairfield, CA – January 31, 2018
The company is very family oriented and focused on its employees. I really enjoyed the work. The environment is very fun. The company hosts many events to boost the moral of the employees. It was fun working there.
Nurse (Current Employee) – Fairfield, CA – December 14, 2017
Probably like most mid-size companies, full of people who go to work 9-5 because they like their coworkers, and there are a few (like 20 of the 700 employees) who are smart, work hard, and care about the mission.
Administrative Assistant II (Former Employee) – Eureka, CA – August 1, 2017
Partnership has four offices. Fairfield, Redding, Santa Rosa and Eureka. There is lots of room for promotion and the company encourages employees to participate in trainings. If you like community outreach and a way to make a difference in this failing heath care system, you will love Partnerhsip.
QI Project Coordinator (Former Employee) – Fairfield, CA – June 20, 2017
I learned a lot about the medical field being at Partnership for 10 years. It's seasoned me to deal with the various personalities of people in the workplace and community. Be more sensitive towards others.
IT Analyst (Former Employee) – Redding, CA – June 19, 2017
Great Place to Work & Great benefits too. 457, HSA, Tuition Reimbursement & 401(k). Grasping their mission as 'To help their members and the communities we serve, be healthy'. The Best Health insurance provider in almost all main North CA counties.
As it is a Medium level organization, you will be involved in every module of development but no complains as there is scope for learning.
Pharmacy Department Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) – Fairfield, CA – May 8, 2017
A nice place to work; great people. Hard workers. A lot of job variety and responsibility. Culture is upbeat and upper management strives to provide incentives to keep the workplace upbeat and positive. Workforce is young, ambitious, educated.
Great benefits and company is aware of the need for work-life balance.
Outgrowing some of its procedures, small business mentality but big business growth and goals.
Program Manager (Former Employee) – Fairfield, CA – April 4, 2017
Partnership has grown rapidly but still has many processes rooted in the days that it was a small company. It has not developed a strong enough structure to support 600 employees in 4 offices. There is poor communications and lack of coordination between the Fairfield and Redding offices, which results in a great deal of unproductive conflict.
In addition, for exempt employees, the hours are very long. Certain departments such as quality are extremely understaffed. HR tends to manage all of its employees like hourly workers. For example, even highly skilled, highly motivated skilled employees are not allowed work from home. Every month there are "mandatory fun" activities that eat into the workday, which means exempt employees must make up the time at night or on weekends.
Health Care Guide (Current Employee) – Fairfield, CA – March 8, 2017
A typical work day is filled with production, giving members the quality of care they deserve on a daily basis and assisting their health care needs. The workplace culture here is outstanding. I have worked with and met with wonderful people whom are all willing to help in any way they can.
Coordinator (Former Employee) – Redding, CA – March 6, 2017
The pay and benefits are great and there are some very nice people there. The food is outstanding and never-ending. Lots of potlucks and luncheons. However, it is a very cut throat work environment where its all about "who you know not what you know." Favoritism is a part of the Partnership culture and being on the bosses "favorites" list is the only way to survive. Predominantly female staff and the gossip is constant. You can do well there if you have the right personality but it is not for the faint of heart. Best of luck.
Claims Customer Service Supervisor (Former Employee) – Fairfield, CA – January 5, 2016
Fast paced, rapid change and growth. I learned how to be an effective and respected team leader. Managed multiple staff, handled escalated provider issues and worked closely with other departments and health care organizations, provided training and guidance. Management displays favoritism and no respect for the family/work balance needed. Some executive leaders are tyrants and show no desire to learn what their line staff does every day.
Diverse company with excellent benefits and friendly atmosphere
Claims Customer Service Representative I (Former Employee) – Fairfield, CA – October 13, 2015
My typical day involved answering provider phone calls regarding claim status, claim adjustments and claim appeals. The supervisors were professional and the co-workers available to assist when questions arose.
