Default Specialist II (Former Employee) –  Ft. Worth, TXJune 13, 2018
I was a default specialist for bankruptcy and the culture was either you produce 100% clean work out you will get written up. Management only look at numbers and not the work load the employees handle every day.
Pros
Cafeteria/ friendly people
Cons
No pay increases, no oom for little errors, no career advancement.

Good Company
Manager (Current Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXJune 1, 2018
Seasoned veterans run the company. The company culture is good, but they do not offer competitive time off. The days are fast paced and the company runs lean, but more time off is needed for the betterment of the company and all of its employees.

Not a good place to work at
Mortgage Operations Specialist (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXMay 29, 2018
When I worked for pennymac the managers were young, not trained properly & very unprofessional. They started conflict with their teams due to their own insecurities. No flexibility with the schedules.

Bad management and very little balance between work and life. Constant changes and unrealistic accountable practices. Selective enforcement and rewards.

Promotions are Seldom
Servicing (Former Employee) –  Moorpark, CAMay 11, 2018
They work you and make false promises saying “you own your career”, “we’re just not promoting right now” “the company took a loss”, etc. Raises and promos don’t happen unless you’re a favorite and/or if you’re related to someone that is in management. They string you along and work you like a dog until you’re burned out. They’re very cheap, and their benefits suck!
Cons
Benefits aren’t good and they don’t pay their people what they’re worth.

Pros
Break and Lunch times are enjoyable in the break room and great pay!

Countrywide Mortgage 2.0
Systems Administrator (Current Employee) –  Moorpark, CAApril 27, 2018
Pennymac is basically all the old executives from Countrywide. While you can change the legal name and reincorporate, old Countrywide management style of employee abuse, micromanagement, zero pay raises, no career advancement still lingers. Employees are treated like garbage (from the top of the organization down), and turnover is off the charts with new management hired to oversee existing mid to long term employees. Employees are terminated and laid off while the company boasts of its millions of dollars in net profits each quarter. If you want a paycheck then this place is ok. As a former Countrywide employee I can tell you nothing has changed from the old guard.
Pros
The Direct Deposit system works
Cons
micromanagement, lack of investment in infrastructure, constant turnover because employees are treated like garbage

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXApril 16, 2018
Pennymac is the place to be at. The best job ever. It's alot of growth within in the company. I was once a customer service representative then was promoted to the default specialist department 'loss mitigation '. It's an all around good place to work at.
Pros
Lunch on site.
Cons
Mandatory overtime
