Great
Parts Clerk (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXJanuary 23, 2019
Even though it is great working there. Upper management is filled with empty promises. They tell you how good you are doing and praise you to just keep you in line. A couple of mistakes and you are gone. But over all an OK place to work.

Master Diesel Technician (Former Employee) –  Sarasota, FLJanuary 14, 2019
This is the worst most cutthroat company I've ever worked for the management will stick it to you every chance they get you never do anything right everything is negative negative negative all day long and it trickles down from the top it doesn't come from anyplace but the top this is a not positive negative environment and I would suggest to anybody to run if you get the opportunity to work for Penske run for your lives and your family sanity

Work Life Balance Penske Has No Concern
Service Manager / Maintenance Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Montebello, CAJanuary 14, 2019
Penske changed from what I feel was the Penske way to all about numbers, they train you not to manage by numbers but if you don't you will pay the price of local management, mandatory overtime running at 3 month segments at times, I felt for the techs losing off time with families, Supervisors are stressed to the max by Shop Managers via District Managers, Ethics from above is lacking.
The pace is very fast and multi tasking is a daily for sure, short handed is an under statement, Pretty nice techs lots of young guys that are learning hard to replace the experience skilled techs.
Until things change back to we care about our people and mean it Penske is on a tail spin.
Pros
steady pay
Cons
to much stress bad for your health

Fast paced environment
Roadside Assistance Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Reading, PAJanuary 11, 2019
Fast paced call center that challenges you to make decisions constantly that are in the benefit of the customer and moving their loads forward. The level of training given helps in adjusting to working on the floor but a mechanical background would make it even easier to do so.
Pros
Paid well/PTO/good benefits
Cons
Long hours and working on holidays/being micro managed all the time

RENTAL REPRESENTATIVE / MANAGEMENT INTERN (Former Employee) –  Florence, SCJanuary 10, 2019
Sometimes slow, but sometimes extremely fast work environment. Seems as if it is easy to move up in the company if you work for them a while. Overall, I had a great experience.

Operations Supervisor (Current Employee) –  PennsylvaniaJanuary 9, 2019
No unattainable goals, very relaxed environment. Great customer to work with. Enjoy being able to spend most of the day on the floor with everyone instead of stuck in an office doing paperwork like I was at my previous employer.

Clamp Forklift Operator (Former Employee) –  Lockbourne, OHJanuary 9, 2019
as a profit driven third party labor provider Penske changed management staff frequently. employee turnover was excessive due to long work hours and a warehouse management program that was flawed and poorly implemented.

Lead tech (Former Employee) –  Midland, TXJanuary 8, 2019
cooperate management considers all of it's locations to be managed under the same business paradigm. this may work in many locations but it does not work in Midland/Odessa texas. because of this they are posting losses at this location, causing stress among the employees

Penske does not care about the safety of their associates.
TECH III (Former Employee) –  South Holland, ILJanuary 8, 2019
The company has good pay and benefits but poor management. They allow drug users to work there and put the safety of their good employees at risk. When something bad happens to you because of the drug user they will use that as an excuse to fire you to wash their incompetent hands. Their HR department and workplace violence prevention policy is meant to be used against you not in your favor. Ask them about the number of workplace violence incidents that have happened at their locations. They are one of the only trucking companies where a mass shooting has happened in (Kennesaw,GA/2010) Look it up if you don’t believe me.
Pros
Easy work, decent pay and benefits
Cons
Too many politicians not enough technicians, Violent workplace with no rule enforcement

The "New" Corporate Management is horrible
Undisclosed (Current Employee) –  NevadaJanuary 5, 2019
There is a new set of corporate managers that love to complain and put down,, they offer no assistance just tell you to do it. It was a place that was a joy to work at but the moral is down and shows no signs of improving. Management on the local level is great and very supportive and the crew is great a family atmosphere.

Uptight and Professional Work Environment
Rental Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Nashville, TNDecember 11, 2018
A typical morning starts out with 50 coldcalls right off the bat (250/week). You are to have 2 scheduled meetings each day. 5 cold in person visits. Not only are you expected to have meetings set up each day, but you were only allowed 2 hours in the office in the mornings. You would get yelled at for being in the office too much, or never being in the office. The managers are all older white males. Some very talented and caring, others not so much. Management is a very sink or swim mentality. They prefer to promote those who started on the counter, so if you are not originally from the Nashville area or have a large amount of experience, you will not succeed at this location. The time spent doing the work, really grows you professionally.
