I started working for PEOPLe Inc as a part time Peer Companion at the Putnam Rose House. Since day one everyone has been so kind and understanding. I worked my way up to Full Time Senior Peer Companion and than applied for Housing at the main office in Poughkeepsie. I also started Per Diem at the Crisis Stabilization Center in 2017. During my time at the main office I did housing for almost 4 years. When I left for maternity leave, I returned to become a Recovery Coach. I eventually returned to housing and after some time was offered a full time position at the Crisis Stabilization Center. I have worked many positions in this company and enjoyed them all in their own way. I think I found my niche here at the center, but I know if I ever decided to try something else, I have always been supported by my co workers and administration.

I wouldn't recommend that anyone work for People USA unless you're being hired for full time, because they truly don't care about part timers and it shows in their policies. A lot of the higher ups are genuinely great people but they have very poor judgement when hiring supervisors. I was fired with no explanation after calling out sick despite finding coverage for my shift beforehand, and the director just repeatedly stated "this is an at will state and we're moving forward without you" when I asked why I was being terminated. None of the Rose Houses are consistently fully staffed and the rotating on-call system is a nice idea but in practice the directors just sound irritated when you have to reach out to them. I truly loved the work I did there and helping people but the pay is atrocious and the culture is toxic, at least if you're part time.

Very few. The director at the time seemed bored and annoyed that she was even there.
