Perception Programs promotes the well-being of the residents of Northeastern Connecticut through preventing, treating, and reducing the harm from substance use, co-occurring mental health disorders, criminal behavior, HIV disease and associated at-risk behaviors. Through the expertise of dedicated staff, we serve over 7,800 individuals, and their families. We ensure accessible, culturally competent, and cost effective services to promote our clients’ recovery, individual responsibility, and public safety. We work to ensure that our services are provided to all, regardless of their ability to pay. Our primary clients are adults, adolescents and families. We also provide services to schools and community groups.
We promote our clients’ recovery by mobilizing their strengths and assisting them in developing the cognitive, emotional, behavioral and social resources to live healthy lives. We believe that addictions are biological, psychological, social and behavioral disorders with adverse consequences on clients' physical, psychological, economic, spiritual, and social well-being as well as on their community. We recognize that mental health disorders and criminal behaviors are often closely associated with each other and with substance use.
Our objective is to reduce clients’ at-risk behaviors and to promote their mental and physical health, family and social supports, lawful behavior, employment, educational goals, and overall community health and safety.
We provide a seamless continuum of care, from residential treatment to sober housing, for our clients. – less
