This place is a joke! You only take this job as a part time or if you need employment! Where to start? They are no up with the times, the clothes are very cheap and made of the poorest quality threads. The pay is as low as they can get you. Moving up , leverage, or growth is a joke! Stores close often and almost everytime they never tell the staff until last minute. I worked here as a part time Asm. My manager was a poor leader! And no one in corporate cares. There is no oversight. You had one DM in charge of 30 stores. ITS JUST A MESS. AND THIS IS CLEARLY THE LAST DAYS OF PERRY ELLIS. It was a revolving door of constant turn over! I'm tired of talking about this place. It's a waste of time!

Total embarrassment after having worked there for a year. This is a mom and pop shop where they make nothing and put their label on cheap imported articles mainly from China and Vietnam. They were so cheap they would take the paper out of the printers and photo copiers at night to make sure nobody from the warehouse made copies for their own purposes. While I was there an employee from Canada was working at PEI on a visa. They basically used this guy for a year, refused to update his DHS paperwork and the guy had to leave the country on a day's notice and they stole his vacation time as well. Fortunately, the guy was honest and left knowing his visa had expired and PE was never going to comply with Homeland Security. Needless to say you don't want to be on a visa working at Perry Ellis. Funny, the owners are immigrants from Cuba so you would think that George Feldenkreis would understand the importance of processing immigration paperwork in a post 9/11 workplace. These people are an embarrassment to the Perry Ellis brand. Perry Ellis is probably rolling in his grave seeing what these characters did to his brand.

Pay starts at 9:00 an hour and they put up hours like 7:00am until or when supervisor says you can leave. You might go to work for a staffing agency saying you are a stockman but put you in shipping or receiving unloading as many as 8 trucks by hand.
