Extended sick time is available to all employees who work at least 20 regular hours per week. It accrues each pay check based on hours worked. A full-time employee working 40 regular hours per week will earn 6 days of extended sick by the end of the calendar year and can use it for absences that extend beyond one week when supported by a doctor's note. All employees who work less than 20 regular hours per week earn Rhode Island Paid Sick & Safe Leave.
