Train them as if they were your own shadow. Don’t expect them to retain everybit of the training in one “see and say” session. Actually spend time with them and train them to take over in your absence. Don’t just expect them to know it all just because you told them what it requires. Spend time with your people and at least make them feel like you want them to succeed.

If you are military minded and love animals, this job is for you. I’d advise any ex military members or salesman to join the team. All they want to do is push their product. They don’t care about your personal life AT ALL.

I’d make sure my staff if happy. When the environment is down it takes a toll on the job. When people are happy, they take better care of themselves, the animals and their jobs. Now I know some people just aren’t happy ppl but I would at least treat each person like a human and not a robot.
