If you were in charge, what would you do to make Petco a better place to work?

  • Better training with management , as well as better employee training.
making sure accountability for management to make sure employees are properly trained and that the same rules apply across the board.

  • Speak to your lowest level employees find out what they've identified as problems in the store
You'll find its the low wages, the strict understaffing, the way you guys focus only 100% on your metrics and numbers and not on long term customer retention.

Dog trainers should only train, groomers should only groom, and store staff should work the store.

  • Explain and follow policies better, pay more, don’t overwork or overbook people, make a more comfortable atmosphere

  • Be for the animals 100% and never about profits

  • I would make sure that all of the employees undergo an extremely thorough background check in order to ensure that we have intelligent employees that are going to handle both the animals and the public with care as long as they are in the store. Also I would make sure that people are respectful and I would enforce the harassment policy to a tee.
