Very flexible hours. The best work/life balance out there. Employees work autonomously.
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - April 13, 2020
Highly recommend. Job interview process in lengthy as they are very particular in finding the right fit. There are 5 steps that include a presentation.

Logistics & Client Care Specialist (Current Employee) - Austin, TX - June 28, 2015
I enjoy my job as a pet importer/exporter - it is an interesting job. It is also constantly challenging with little time to implement innovative processes. Management is misguided and possibly inept at providing solutions to problems of the front-line staff in a long-term perspective.
The company culture will be very difficult to beat anywhere else. The sales and client care staff are unique, warm and wonderful people who care about doing a good job. Mid- and upper-management are wonderful people but they focus entirely too much on the future and not nearly enough on present problems.
Pros
company culture, unique business, you can bring pets to work
Cons
no 401K, lack of attention to real problems

Fun culture and passionate people
Senior Client Care Consultant (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - April 15, 2015
It would be hard to find a more challenging, fun work environment where you are are surrounded by people who care about you and the clients. The days fly by, and there all always opportunities to make improvements on the company's processes. Opportunities for advancement depend solely on company growth which has been present, but slow, so patience is required.
Pros
Early release Fridays, Flexible work from home policy
Cons
no 401k, little room for advancement

Could be a good place w/new management
customer relations (Current Employee) - central - May 26, 2013
Expect a lot of stress
Pushy sales of over priced product
customer relations supervision plays favorites
micromanagement of everything
customer relations management is discriminatory, upper management does nothing
some of the people actually care about pets, not just numbers
you can find better service for much less
Pros
good location
Cons
product too expensive, owners allow discriminatory customer relations supervision

confrontational management style
sales & support (Former Employee) - austin, TX - March 22, 2013
Where do I start. It is a very poorly managed company. "Senior" folks are in their 20's with little to no actual experience managing anything. Not much of a team environment. Everyone is out for themselves. When I first started, nothing was taught to me, I was expected to know everything. It is very hard to move up in the company. They seem to favor people for leadership positions who come from outside. Reorgs occur often which force high turnover rates.
Pros
downtown location
Cons
unpaid customer calls nights and weekends, few benefits

fun job, bad management
Global Project Management and Logistics (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - October 3, 2012
* stressful day to day job with a lot of overtime * rules and requirements for importing animals to all countries * management was non existant * great co workers * the hardest part of the job was the constant stress * the most rewarding part of the job was my happy clients when they were reunited with their animals
Pros
co workers
Cons
management
