I've never worked for this company, but was considering it. Not anymore. My God....doesnt ANYONE from management read these reviews ???? I'd be totally ASHAMED of myself if I was part of management here.

I had a very bad experience working with PetsMart, requested a vacation 5 months in advance and did not get it. All of the women in the salon were very rude and treat their bathers like doormats. Manager was very rude and disrespectful, anyone who would put up with it must not have very much self respect.

Suggestion: It would be helpful if people said what store they worked at because they all can't be bad. Only a few did say where they worked.

I worked for this Company for close to 5 years. The store I started at was great but I moved back to my hometown and transferd when I was close to two years. This store was a mess Pet care was filthy no one was caring for the animals wit proper p&p standards and any time I would mention anything to management my concerns were dismissed or they thought I was complaining. I dealt with a few rounds of managers and staff changed twice and I still stayed because I loved what I did and loved my regulars that I've been helping for years. A big reason I left is that it took me years to get full time they are terrible with giving raises if you're not their favorite they won't review you well so you get a 10 cent raise. I was being payed less then a coworker who was there not even half the time I was, favoritism is huge with this Company. I worked in petcare, bathing, and cash I was working my way up to management but unfortunately no matter how hard I worked it didn't happen since the manger th at had control of my pay or sceduale wasn't very fond of me due to a rumer not based on my work ethic or how I treated the team. Since I was the only full time employee and basicly "acting pet care lead" according to mangement since I was full time they would give me minimal mangement duties and refused to pay me more for them. I was basiclly a mini manager without the pay, title, or authority. They let customers treat you terribley verbally abuse you and they will not stick up for their employees so the customers continue to return and treat you that way. I can't tell you how many times myself or a coworker would break down and cry due to customers and mangement not doing anything. In the location I was in my manger had us stop IDing to sell fish at first then to all live animals to make more sales. I would go to management about neglect of animals and nothing was ever done about it they would always say I'll take care of it and nothing ever improved most of the workers were lazy and were rarely spoken to and if they didn't finish you'd have to do all of their work, cleaning, plus yours and help the cashier do their work, recover the whole store by yourself since the company wanted to cut hours wherever they could and made their employees struggle being so short staffed. Also even though I was full time they would give about 40 hours to part time employees and try to give me about 32 I was always picking up shifts so I could pay my billa. My manager has had me pick up bodily fluids when it's a mangement dutie when I said "I'd rather not I'm sorry I'm told I'm unable since I'm not a manager" her response was "I need you to go do that so you can get back to your pet care duties"
The pay is terrible for the amount of work you do mainly in pet care. Cash can be draining due to the customers acting like adult children but it's easy and easy pay. Hours are all over the place too something they have you closing into an open there was been times ive worked the overnight till 7am and the next day i had to close. There is probably a lot more I could write but I'll leave it at this this place give me an annerisim
