Management can't get on the same page for anything. Operations employees are constantly pulled in thousands of directions because management has no idea what they are doing or what to do to move the business forward. Planning is nearly nonexistent in a manufacturing facility where planning is extremely integral since plants must be planted 5 months in advance of demand. When operations employees try to bring up issues or request necessary resources, we are often denied or ignored or told that these issues will work themselves out. Employees are expected to work at a level high above their title, scientists and technicians being asked to make management and higher level decisions and solve high level problems at the company (of which there are many). Further, employees are expected to take on more and more responsibility with no increased compensation or bonuses for the extra they are constantly taking on. Or if there is compensation to be given, employees are expected to take on the responsibilities 3-6 months before a title change and raise is given. Employees are expected to work 10-12 hour days 5 days a week, sometimes on weekends too, because management can't understand the needs of the business to properly staff or equip the facility.
